before i even bought my tundra i knew what wheel and tire set up i wanted. after purchasing it i went back and forth about what to do: 18s, 17s method, fuel, icon, 33s, 34s, 35s ect... i finally decided to just do what i originally planned and pick up a set of 18" methods with some 295 70 18s. i dont do hardcore offroading so the 18 vs the 17 debate doesnt mean much to me. plus i think the 18 looks soooooo much better not to mention i have a little better caliper clearance.
im only rocking the fronts till tomorrow morning when ups delivers my other wheel. for some reason the split the shipment from discount tire and i only got 3 today. and ill also say the DTD was a please to deal with. they price matched anything i found cheaper, mounted and balanced for free and shipped for free. cant beat that.
Here is a little teaser of the new set up. 18x9 method NV wheels with a +25 offset wrapped in 295 70 18 toyo at2 extreme all terrains. In preparation for this I did add a 1/2" spacer up front and a BMC. After mounting them today is did push the front lines forward about and inch and everything clears now.
I have only driven around the block until the last wheel comes in tomorrow but so far I'm very impressed with the look. Can't wait to mount the rears. Here are some pics and comparison shots. For reference the other set up is a 17x8 RW wheel with a 285 70 17 Goodyear duratracs. new set up measures right at 34" and the old measures at 32.5" Enjoy

The bigger tires make quite a difference. What are you doing with the RW wheels?

You had to do all that just to fit 295s? I thought all PRO owners needed to do was remove those front mud flaps?

all depends on the wheel offset. if on stock wheels then yes just remove the front flap. other set ups can vary. did i need the BMC, maybe not but i didnt want the wheels sitting here while i ordered the plates. plus i have a welder here so it was only a couple hours of my time and about $30 for the plates. the shim up front was strictly for aesthetics, i have +2 shackles out back and wanted a little more height up front. and yes i did need to push the front liners forward, i confirmed that after mounting the wheels

I just purchased the same tires as you but they'll go on ray10 wheels. 18x9 +25mm offset. Sounds the same as yours.

From the sound of it, all i need to do is remove the front mud flap and push the front liner in? I'm not trying to do a BMC if i don't have to.

you should be fine. one thing i have learned from years of modding is every car/truck is different. to me doing the BMC wasnt a hard decision. i get why some dont want to do it. so i would wait and see if you need it. and yes that is virtually the same exact set up as me.

Looks awesome! I agree with you every truck is slightly different as well. I put 18x8.5 wheels on mine with +25mm offset and 275/70/18, running a 2" spacer and I had to remove the front mud flaps for rubbing on mine. I have seen others running very similar setups with no issues.

    Sweet truck!

My VMP TVS goes on in the next week or two. Just waiting for the last of the support parts, ARH 1 3/4" long tubes to arrive. Mine will be tuned for 93oct, so I'll be happy if it makes 600-610hp & 560-570tq.
After the Cobra is done, I'm going to be on the hunt for a set of Methods or SCS wheels.

I have this tires and your wheels. No bmc but it’s close. I’m going to get bmc eventually just because. And like everyone says each truck is different. What kind of uca also makes a difference.

you are going to love the TVS, even on 93. i went from a 2.3 whipple on 93 making 610 to the TVS on 93 and i could definitely feel a difference. then the switch to e85 put it in another league. good luck with yours

im not even sure i needed a BMC but i didnt mind doing it to make sure everything cleared when the wheels and tires finally arrived.

looks great. I have similar combo: 18" method standard and AT2 xtreme Toyo 295/70/18. Great setup for the Tundra.

I couldn't agree more. I thought the RW set up looked good (was on the truck when I bought it). but when I did the front install of the new wheels it made the RW look like Mickey mouse.
And a funny story, had a raptor owner stop me today to give me compliments on the truck.:benchpress:

Great looking truck 94slowbra! I've been looking all over the internet for a pic or two that shows an actual good view of the front and rear views to get an idea on over all look (thank you for these). I love your wheels and tires setup and only had one question that I'm hoping you or someone can help clarify as i finalize my own decision. In your OP you mention the following "In preparation for this I did add a 1/2" spacer up front and a BMC". My question is does that mean that you added 1\2 spacers that essentially push your wheels\tires out a 1\2" giving you a slightly more aggressive look while also providing you some additional clearance? Does that make sense? Lastly, what is BMC?

Thank you for any information you can provide as these are the best shots I've seen with the Method\Toyo 295 setup I really like.

Thanks, glad I could help. To answer your questions:
The 1/2" space I added was to lift the front, not to push the wheels out further. The pro comes with approximately 2" of front lift so now i have about 2.5" of front lift.
The BMC is a body mount chop. Basically gives you a little clearance on the cab side of the wheel well. Just google it and you will see all kinds of pics
To me this set up is the sweet spot for these trucks. Fit perfect and clear everything.
If you have anymore questions just holla

Thank you so much sir. Awesome looking truck! Have you been happy with the Toyos overall from what you had (ride quality, noise)?

    You got it bud.
The toyos have been great so far. They are an E rated tire so they are a little more stiff than factory but hey, it's a truck right. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I expect to get great mileage from them, they are relatively quiet and the have been good both on and offroad
