    Hey All,

Can anyone recommend a good rotor pad package for 2014 CM 2wd? I upgraded the shocks yesterday Bilstein 6112 front, 5100 rear, along with some new tires Nokian Rotiva AT 275/60/20.

Need to change out the pads ASAP since there isn’t too much meat left on the bone. That and these rotors feel like they are warped so might as well change them all at once.

    Any advise would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Saadi

Centric premium Rotors and your choice of pads. EBC, Hawk, Centric premium ceramic pads, good parts store brands.

Follow the bedding in process and you should be good to go.

I switched to Stop Tech Sport slotted rotors and Posi Quiet ceramic pads. Very happy with them.

    autoanything carries them.

Bought oem Toyota Tundra rotors off eBay for $69.00 for pair. Previous owner got 90k with originals. Seemed like a no brainer. Good luck. D

I highly recommend Hawk LTS brake pads, noticeable difference even with the stock rotors. Follow the bedding in process and your go to good.

Hey all, I just changed my rotors and pads today. I decided to go with the Stop tech rotors and pads. The install went smoothly but when I took it out for a drive to bed the pads and rotors things didn’t go as smoothly. The truck takes forever to stop and the pedal feels all spongy to the point where the brake pedal is all the way to the floor. I can feel the abs working but it just doesn’t feel right.

I didn’t bleed the brakes because I didn’t disconnect any of the brake lines. Could air have gotten in when I was pushing the pistons back to make room for the new thick pads?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks,
    Saadi

It takes a few good heat cycles to bed those rotors and pads. I think mine took three times.

Always bleed the brakes a bit. This ensures good pedal feel.

I also don’t recommend pushing fluid back through the system via the caliper pistons. When collapsing the pistons, I crack open the bleeder and then release the pressure locally.

I didn’t bleed the caliper while pushing the piston back. Should I bleed all 4 corners and see if it helps? I have a motive power bleeder I use on my 911 when I upgraded the brakes.

That is exactly what I would do.

Sorry fellas, I’ve been swamped at work, I’m going to bleed the brakes tonight after work and post my results. Needed to buy an adapter for the Motive power bleeder for the tundra. Will post pics too once I’m done tonight.

Hey all, I bled the brakes last night and as Chris recommended the tundra is braking much better than it did before I did the upgrade. I also noticed that after I bedded in the brakes it took roughly another 2 days for the spongy fleeing to go away. Maybe the bedding in procedure needs to be followed a few times.
