Sounds like a dumb question but what are my next steps? Called insurance and opened a case. What should I expect?

Glad they're OK and glad they were in a Tundra. Sorry 'bout your truck, looks like you're getting a new one. Trucks can come and go, as long as the family is OK......

    Holy hell!!!

So glad your family is ok.

Man, I would say a prayer tonight, buy a lottery ticket for Wednesday nights drawing. Total bummer on the truck.

    Damn that sucks!
Sorry to see. I’m happy your family is okay.

    How’d the cab hold up?
Also what happened to the rear bumper?

    Yes I’d call insurance.

Inform your insurance company for sure. Hopefully this person was insured.

    Let the games begin.

So when it was hit it was about to flip over but a car going opposite of my wife hit the rear of the tundra which caused it not to flip. Which damaged the rear bumper

Jesus man, I just had the same thing happen. Watched my Tacoma get totaled. I wasn’t that close though.

I can only imagine the 1.5 million things that was going through your mind at that second in time.

That sucks. I'm glad your family is OK. You definitely need to call your insurance company ASAP. I think the truck might be considered totaled. You might be able to get a new Tundra. :)

Yup. Accident happened in slow motion. My wife pulled off to the side, she made sure my boy was ok. She got out of the truck crying saying omg I'm so sorry I know how much you love your truck

Holy crap man, glad the family is ok.
    Truck not so much.
Guessing the process might be slightly different as the driver will be getting a DUI.

    DAMN!!

Glad everyone is ok. Insurance will handle the truck. They'll probably say it's totaled and if they don't you need to argue that it is. Frame is probably bent. Cab is compromised. Bed and tailgate are toast. Passenger doors are done.

I'd get a lawyer and sue the fuck out of the drunk driver.

I bet it did. Slowest moment in time. I would have had a tough time not reacting to the other driver.

I got hit by a drunk driver last year. The police report will have all the info the insurance companies need.

So you called yours to start the process. His insurance company will probably call you tomorrow offering a settlement. Don' take it.

Wait for any medical bills or anything else first. And if you plan on suing him call the lawyer ASAP.

I'm Glad that you, the wife and your boy are OK. First thing now is, call the insurance, which you did. Second, scavenge whatever upgrades you can get your hands on before it goes away.
