    I’ve been there. I had to tow my Dodges multiple times up to Denver with a mid 80’s gas powered Ford farm truck with a 460 big block.

    Test fitting the ladies on the new auto trailer. My ‘93 Land Cruiser with factory electronic diff locks I purchased in 2009 and my grandparents ‘72 GMC they purchased new in March ‘72 that I obtained in 2010 from their estate. I need to bump the front of the GMC up with a 2x8 to clear my tongue tool box.

    Yeah, that sucks man. I have only had 1 Dodge Truck and will not buy another one... My Uncle had a Dakota with the small v8 and he pulled a 3500 lb trailer with it. Well, when he went to pull the trailer out of the canyon, it did not have enough torque to get out of the canyon, he got 1/2 way up and then could not go forward anymore so he had to back down the windy road to the bottom of the canyon with a trailer. Talk about white knuckling.

    My brother is a chevy fan boy so he loves to rub it in my face. Funny thing is I never figured out what caused it to not start after getting gas that one time. After he towed me back to the house and it sat for a few hours it started just fine. I think the canister got flooded out by gasoline when I was filling up.

    Couldn't hookup a brake controller to the fleet Tundra... The dealer rented this for me instead.

    Nice! I never saw one that pops up like that. I don't see a WDH, although you have no Cali sag.
    I had a Pro Series WDH when we had our Coleman popup, did not feel like anything was back there and no sway.

    I sure hope it’s more advanced, it’s only double the price.

    Welcome to diesel power/fuel economy...and diesel issues (not that you will find out in a rental). Glad you like it. The F250 is a nice truck.

    I would really think twice before daily driving a modern 07’ or newer diesel truck. You seem to hold on to vehicles, and long term this may cost you wallet thickness.

    Unless your towing and working the diesel daily, stay gasoline power.

    Do some research. I have two friends that have paid dearly for doing exactly what you plan to do with a diesel.

    Both have had to replace drivers side head due to burnt valves from being in regen mode a lot. The trucks never got worked hard enough, often enough.

    This was before 15k miles.

    It’s a classic, no toilet as most campgrounds have flush or pit. I really don’t want to get into black water tanks at this time. That being said I do have a portable thetford with cartridge storage that I could use(in case one twists an ankle and cannot walk).

    My wife actually wanted the upgrade dormers option that really give more space. I thought this would be my guy or solo travel thing, but wife seems to like it well enough we use it for delivery her art work also. Our vacations are more of the 5 star resort.

    Expedition is nice but I did not want to go longer as the Classic first nicely in my third stall of the garage. Keeps all the tree needles, pollen, bug and critters off it.

    Standard hitch is on the Tundra. Unloaded, the trailer is only 2000 lbs. Factory trailer controller seems to be functioning.

    The 2018 model for the Classic has hard dormers option. I like the hard sides to avoid moisture problems and maybe slow down a bear. The dormers added $$ and about 400 lbs.

    One requirement I had was to be comfortable going on dirt forest service mountains roads and passes. The Tundra feels stable so far, but have not been on a wet dirt road in the mountains. I don’t expect any problems.

    Thanks! I haven't taken the boat up to the Ozarks, it spends its summers on a lift at Lake Eufaula and sometimes I drag it up to Grand Lake. I've spent some time on Lake of the Ozarks but didn't take the boat, its a beautiful place.

    I was looking hard at an F-250 when I was truck shopping. It's definitely a nice truck, but after careful deliberation I ended up with the Tundra. Not looking back! I love this thing. Hopefully I can give it to my son when he starts driving in about 10 years. Then I'll consider looking at the Ford again, buy probably not.
