I used the Eddie write up. It is well written and simple to do.

Well we did not continue with the Eddie V1 because the 2012 plugs and wiring appeared different than the tutorial. We decided to do additional research before continuing so we didn't cut the wrong wires.
@Beer'd_n_yotas , did your plugs and wiring look the same as the tutorial?

Found this comment in regards to 2012 wiring after asking if there were updated instructions for 2012-2013
"Never mind. The wiring is almost 100% the same as in the earlier models. I just wasn't looking far enough into the dash."

This leads me to believe we weren't looking in the right spot.

    ^^^

We were under the kick panel, and could not locate any resemblance...

True. I will look at mine tonight and investigate each connector to find the match. The location might be different but hopefully the connector is the same.

After looking at it again the pink wire is under the steering column and the grey under the kick panel. We didn't look at under the steering column. oops

Mine is a 13 and it was correct as far as I remember. And you do need to pull the kick panel and connect to the wires at the base of the steering colum. Need me to take a pic?

Ok here is what we weren't doing . The lower plastic section of the dash needs to be removed to get the the top plugs where the pink wire is. Use a 10mm socket to remove the two lower bolts and pull to pop the clips off.

Wolves with the switch. Stock it can't turn on with brights or without the low beams on. With mod it will turn on with parking lights, low and heigh beams.

Do we have to use a 22 gauge wire? My local stores only sale 18 - 8 gauge wire, so is it ok to use the 18 gauge wire?

You don't need to but the wire you tap into is very very small.

My fog lights come on when it's parked for no reason. Any ideas, love the extra light with my high beams on but worried about bat going dead.

Finished this mod last night on my '16 platinum CM. My rigid fogs should arrive this afternoon. I'll get a pic posted as soon as it's dark again. My phone battery died last night from using it as a work light...

So this will let you turn your fog lights on and off, independent of your headlights? I want to run my fog lights, when my headlights are off and only my DRL are on. Also, have my fog lights on when my HIGH beams are on.

Parking lights off/DRLs on = no fog lights
Parking lights on = fog lights on if switch is turned on
Headlights on = fog lights on if switch is turned on
High Beams on = fog lights on if switch is turned on

Yes, this allows them to be on with park lights and high beams. However they don't come on with auto Drl, the light switch has to be at least in the park light position. But I can verify that fogs with high beams and fogs with park lights do work.

I did misunderstand the "harness side" at first, and made the jumper for the plug side. Quick troubleshoot and made the jumper for the harness side (wire side) and it worked as advertised. Thanks for posting All the write ups!

I thought I would mention that after I drove the truck I noticed that the fog lights bounced from larger bumps in the road. When I got back, I checked to make sure everything was tight. But the lights are attached by a piece of sheet metal. It does look like I could slide the lights forward slightly and possibly reduce the bouncing(not much though). I want to keep the lights how they are(tucked in a bit). So for now I have some thick rubber that's not visible, but holds the lights rock solid. No more bouncing. I like the rigid mounts, there is a bit of a different install on platinums vs crome(metal) corners. Perhaps that's contributing to the bouncing.

Anyway the rigid SAE fog lights are amazing. Puts the stock fogs and headlights to shame. Turning on my headlights is almost unnoticeable. The SAE fogs have such tight cutoff, but the light from the fogs project farther than the headlights. Very happy with both the mounts and fogs, the mounts could be more rigid though.

So no one is having an issue with the fog lights randomly coming on after the truck has been turned off for 15-20 min? This would be on the 2016 models btw
