Anyone use an eBay programmer?

I just ordered one to reprogram my tpms and to turn off the seatbelt chime that annoys the crap out of me. I shouldn't have to put my seatbelt on to move my truck around the yard!

Im pretty OCD but I wouldn't trust plugging an unbranded programmer into my truck, not even for something minor.

That looks like its just the wiring harnees for the actual tool, do you have the tool/software already?

 

My brother has one for his F250. The rear tires on his truck require 85 psi but the actual tires are rated to 45 so he always had TPMS light on. He used the programmer to turn TPMS off. Beware you need more than the cable, he had to buy the software specific to his truck.

We used cables like those to program the guidance systems on Ag equipment. Just so long as it has the right # of prongs we never had a problem.

Eliminated the chimes and did a come of other mods

 

I bought one on ebay last month. Came from a guy in Bulgaria for about $48. Included the latest (?) TechStream (Ver 10.20.030) and works fine on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop. I turned off the seatbelt chimes, haven't had a need to do any more than that yet.

 

Got it yesterday. Worked perfectly for programming the new tpms and killing the seatbelt chime.

 

No that was not an option that I found, but I have seen a writeup on that where a guy used a timed relay to defeat that and installed a Detroit trutrac if I remember correctly
