3/1 leveled and now want to upgrade suspension. Please help clarify

    Do I toss the leveling kit? Will a _______ coilover (add brand here: Bilstein, Fox, Icon, King etc. etc.)2.5, 3.0, or 3.5 achieve the lift without the leveling kit anymore or does the kit stay?I’m thinking 3.5 or less lift so as not to change UCA at the moments since I don’t so much off roaming. Should I do a leaf pack?

    2016 SR5 off road package. Had Rough Country 3/1 kit installed in 2016. Last month replaced 18” stock wheels/tires to 20” Method NV in bronze with Procomp 33 ATs.

    This is my forever truck; my war horse. Interested in quality yet kean not to over invest.
    I drive about 100-150 miles daily in and around town for work with the occasional fire road and slow speed trials. I need to improve the ride quality but with so many options I’m stuck.

    I would like to invest for the perfect set-up. Was thinking around $3K but if $1K is all I need than great...I’ll move on to LTH and an 8” from Kieth.

    I got rid of my 3/2 dealer installed spacers and blocks, and went with the Bilstein 6112/5160, 6112 on the highest setting, setup. With CB +2 shackles and 1 CB shim on driver front to account for the lean.

    This setup is more functional for the light offraoding I do and a whole lot smoother on road ride. I'm so much happier with this than I was previously. Although, i did take a slight hit in heighth with the new coil overs, compared to spacers.

    Trucks looks great and love the color! I really appreciate your response; it helps a lot!

    I was hoping to do what you did with the Bilsteins; a simple bolt on replacement. Seems perfect for my needs in the near future. Did you need another alignment? Is there a benefit to installing the bilsteins and leaving the leveling kit?
    Also would you mind explaining what CB +2 shackles are as well as the one CB shim on driver front for lean. Thanks in advance!

    Yes, what's a $100 alignment vs the cost of 2 new front tires and eventual alignment later on.

    If you leave the spacers on the front you are defeating the purpose going with raised coilovers. Essentially the raised coilovers allow you to get the wheel travel needed and maintain the lift. If you leave the spacers on, still gonna run the risk of breaking one due to the spacer reduces the distance of wheel travel. If you want a 6 inch lift, then you need to invest in doing that the right way. Too many other troubles by leaving spacers on then lifting with shocks.

    CB, aka Coachbuilder, makes replacement shackles for rear leaf springs. This provides lift to the rear, as opposed to the current blocks. If you keep the blocks under the rear leafs and haul loads/pull trailers, it will cause the leafs to flatten out.

    The CB shim is made for mounting above front shocks. Due to the Tundra fuel tank and weight distribution causing a lean to driver side front, if you add 1 shim above the driver front shock, it gets you pretty close to level, left to right.
