It sucks that we can't do that on our 14's... Thanks Toyota

Not tough in the least. Seriously takes 5-10 minutes. Plug and play.

No. Aftermarket one wasn't sitting right so water got in, rusted it up, and then it was snapped off. Extractor couldn't even pull it out!

I usually give a quick coat of fluid film to all bolts to prevent any future rust. When I took of the tow hooks I found rust already between hook and frame on a 2016. I was quite surprised. Quick touch up and blast of fluid film should help.

I have some led lights for the hood, but I never got around to installing yesterday  so I'll do it next time.
I'm surprised how Toyota doesn't keep a light under the hood as it is.

I had though about doing mine too. Did you strip them down first or just paint over. Mine seem like they have heavy kind of rubberish coating on them. Any special brand of paint?

I cleaned them well with wire wheel and brake cleaner. No special type of paint, just 4 coats of rattle can red and let dry well between each coat. I didn't have any clear coat at home. Will have to see how it holds up. Will post pics as soon as weather warms up and I can get it washed.

    Thank you
A lot of measuring and reapplying to make sure it was. I hate not having things centered, straight and right on the edge lined up just as much as you.

Got some Method Roost 18x9 wheels and Cooper ST Maxx 275/75R18 tires. Didn't go 295's as I didn't want any rubbing at all and wanted to be able to stuff the tires offroad as needed.

Still haven't decided if I want to put some Coachbuilder shims and shackles on it yet. Going to wait and see how much it settles after my White Knuckle sliders go on.
