I searched and searched the forums and couldnt find anything... Maybe the keywords i'm putting in are wrong... But here's whats happening

2017 Tundra TRD Pro only about 3000 Miles...
When I go to start my truck (remote or key) every now and then (not often at all) she has problems... It sounds like the ignition is just firing and firing over and over again till I turn the ignition to off or hit the remote start again. And when i mean firing and firing it's not even trying to turn over... Any ideas on what could be the problem? I do have an aftermarket Viper Remote Start/Alarm. I am about due for the first "free" oil change at toyota should I bring it up then? I should also note that when this happens and I turn the ignition off and try it again She starts right up... like nothing ever happened...

    Thanks in advanced!
    Niru

Edit: This is not my video but this is what she does as described above.

Hey i have a 2017 toyota tundra trd pro... 3 weeks after purchasing it in august 2017 with 11k miles on it, it did this and it got sent to the toyota dealerships auto shop. when it got there they said it wasnt having issues so they returned the truck back to me. now this month the same issues only it is actually continuing. since december i have installed a viper alarm system and rock lights. Toyota basically said they arent doing anything about it because they cannot duplicate the issue. can you please tell me if the fix above with ready flashing with new parameters worked? i am very curious to know. i am going once again to be driving around waiting to stall out again becuase toyota failed to diagnose the issue. any help with this would be appreciated. Toyota thinks its my aftermarket alarm system but how if it was giving me the same issue in august months way before?

Welcome!! I'm going to be honest I completely forgot I posted this and forgot to update my post...

I went to the dealership and 2 times now... they refused to do anything with it unless they could recreate the problem on demand. They wanted to do a "1h Diagnostics" which would have costed $129... I passed on that... took the truck home, took a nap woke up to run some errands... FIRST time starting the truck up after come home from the dealership... truck WONT START I was pissed! This happened last weekend (March 3rd) the one thing they told me while there was to go back to the shop that installed my Viper alarm and have them look at it again... I need this fixed... but leaving the truck with them for $129 with the possibility that they wont do anything to fix my problem has me LIVID! Gonna need to find another way to get this fixed cause the STEALERSHIP doesnt want to help me/us...

Man that sucks! Are you still under warranty? My warranty has about a year and 14,000 miles left by the way I know they did something to it because when I got it back yesterday I was able to fill up at 600miles I have only ever been able to fill up at 415miles

Definitely will do man. I think they definitely did something. I have never been able to fill my tank as much as i was able to.. and also the average fuel economy setting would never change it stayed stuck all The Time and now it' actually giving me different numbers so we will see how it goes. That really sucks that yours is so new with only 6800 miles on it and they are charging you for maintenance I would tell Toyota to shove it!

I just wanted to update this issue.. its finally fixed!! After the 3rd time in March I took it to a different dealer. It's an emissions issue. There was an "add on" feature remote start added to the vehicle from toyota. The harness had corrosion and a pin was breaking off. Which caused the issues. I had found out later my ac compressor wasn't kicking on after washing the vehicle after finally fixing the startup issue I brought the concern of the ac compressor going off when washing the vehicle toyota stated the windshield had not been sealed properly and water was getting into the control box. Once they fixed this I have not had issues! Hope this help #checkyoglass

That is normal for when they disconnect the negative on the battery. You lose all your fuel data and it resets to the factory settings displaying over 600+ per tank. I have had mine disconnected several times from installing various items and it always does the same thing. It will take a few months to get back to it's normal state where it doesn't change much.

I found my issue to be different from some of you guys... I have a custom key for my tundra, I sent one of my original keys to have Cut and Chip removed... Turns out the Chip was not lining up properly and causing the Anti theft cause my start up problems... I had to adjust the location of the chip on my key and now all is working! yay!
