I can’t count the hours on this site gathering info. There is a ton of great info.

I believe I will go with a 3/1 lift on my new 18 tundra Platinum. I would like the best set up, not the cheapest. I will probably never do much or any off-road. I will tow a 2-3k trailer very occasionally. My questions is, how much more involved is a 3/1 vs a straight level? I would like to keep the ride & towing the same or similar. Are there a lot more parts, PCs and labor?

I went with the readylift 3/1 and have no complaints. I love the look. Just need bigger tires now :)

I pulled into a tire shop today and saw my same truck with a leveling kit, 33-1/2 Toyo XT tires and Fuel rims. Loved it. I walked in and told them to do the same with mine.

What kind of leveling kit? Are we talking 6112/5160 or a spacer?

If level, when you tow, the back will sag (depending on the tongue weight) and you'll have a Cali lean. Use a WDH on the trailer, Firestone air bags will keep it up, and/or maintain a slight rake with shackles. If you really like the level look all year, get air bags for the occasional tow.

"Best", would be mid to high end suspension lifts.

"Practical" since you don't off-road, 5100 x4, or, 6112 front + 5160 back for light off-roading. The fronts are adjustable in height with either shock, if you go top setting, and/or add Coachbuilder shims to get it around 2.5-3", the back can be raised a bit and levelled with CB or Toytec shackles.

    Why spacer lifts aren't great:

Those were Black Rhino +6. I had to do some mods because of rubbing and I didn’t like how much they stuck out. All I saw were rock chips on the sides of the truck and front of my boat and camper.
They got swapped for Fuels in +18 and I was able to replace the plastic I cut up and have zero rub and they still have a great stance. I’ll get a pic of the new wheels up today.
With that being said I liked the BR wheels better and IMO seemed to be a better product.

Depending on tire size you should not have any rub if you at least level.

I’m figuring for sure mudflaps will have to come off which I was going to do anyways and maybe the plastic liner will have to be heated up. They are 20’s
