On my next set of tires I’m planning on doing a 5 tire rotation. Does the TPMS work with 5 tires?

If I remember correctly, there are only 4 tpms sensors.

I can’t remember if you even have the option to program a 5th sensor

No. You have to reprogram every time you rotate. If I were to do it again, I would just get Tpms on 4 wheels. I air up and down so often I really don’t need it. I just need to keep that light off.

Older Toyotas models you could program 5 stopped around 2007 for newer model changes. On the 2008 and newer (from my personal experiences) techstream only allows you to program 4. I can program 5 on my wifes 2008 highlander. If you really wanted all 5, just write down all the codes and install location, then rotate the spare in and track the one that was pulled out.

My 2006 Tundra had five TPMS sensors, including the spare. They were not position specific and if the light went on you had to check each tire to see which one was going low.
