    only issue I might see is how will the zip ties hold up to weather effects, especially the heat. they tend to get brittle and snap after being exposed to the elements.

    Flux capacitor!
    It literally takes a few minutes to replace the zip ties if they break. LEDs don't produce much heat and there is the plastic fender well cover over them as well. I don't think it will be an issue. If they do snap overtime it's back to being the same way it was prior. The zip ties aren't holding them in place just removing the play.
