I have purchased the budget bamuffler from Keith about two weeks ago for a 5.7 cm. I know that Cai alone are pretty much worthless as far as gains. But is there a Cai that would compliment this exhaust system or would the drop in k&n filter be fine. Or is it still pointless even with the exhaust. Thanks guys.

K&N would be fine ....AFE drop-in is also an option. Better air flow is good, but other than the exhaust, a tune is going to be your best option for overall gains

K&N is a very efficient way to get oil where it doesn't belong.

Call Keith and ask what HE recommends!

probably won't be any fun if he says 'stock' but at least you'll know what the mfr suggests.

DAP has proved gains with the AFE drop in, more specifically the Dry filter from what u recall.

Ya I’m gonna recommend you call & ask Keith @dirtydeeds. He knows his shit. Most likely will tell you the stock intake is the best.
I have his 7” system and I added the SABM and ended up leaving the original filter.

I went ahead and bought the afe drop in oil free filter. Figure 80 bucks for a filter that should last the life of the truck. Had good reviews. Not doing 300 plus for Cai since technically it has one. Now just waiting for the exhaust to get here.
