I personally don't think Toyota would do that. Toyota makes more $$$ selling suspension upgrades over base/grade with TRD and Pro options.

Right, but only the Pro has any sort of lift. Nissan still has an off-road package with the standard upgraded shocks, skid plates, etc. (even on the non Pro-4x trims). I know a lot of people like to stay as OEM as possible, so I think a "Toyota approved" lift kit would sell pretty well.

LOL, calm down everyone. I'm not saying anyone would buy a Titan over something else because of this, just that it's an interesting idea.

I traded my 05 Titan crew cab in on my Tundra on now I actually really like that Titan but what I didn't like is the b******* I had to replace on it. And I think the new one is hideous looking

Yeah I totally agree with you it's a very good idea that Titan went with this Factory lift option and using icon

I had two Titans previously (04 and 05) and liked them for the most part. I had to replace cracked manifolds on the 05 (long tubes and a tune were fun, though) and had a few other annoying things go wrong.

I was looking hard at the new Pro-4x before I bought my Tundra, but I agree: I couldn't get over that fugly front end.

Wow, that's a lot worse than mine was! Besides the manifolds I just had the blend door actuator "click", gap in the rear body panel (let in water), a/c condenser drain hose too short in the firewall (water leaked back into front passenger carpet), and a buzzing/grounding issue in the stereo. All were pretty easy fixes other than the manifolds (never want to do that job again). That was all in my 05. My 04 had zero issues as long as I owned it, which is why I bought an 05.

The 1st gen Titan was the poorest selling truck in it's class over it's lifetime. The new 2nd gen Titan will also be the poorest selling truck in it's class. Numbers don't lie.....

You’re 100% right on the “Toyota approved” accessories, take the TRD supercharger as the perfect example. Of course now they have the new Fox TRD Pro shocks that people can buy, guess that’s basically the same as Nissan going with Icon.

Maybe Nissan could offer a giant paper bag to strap over the front????
