My wife loves to play games, board games, dice games, yard games, cards or anything else. I'm at about 50% of her enthusiasm level, so of course I play something about 95% of the time that she asks. We played Yahtzee tonight, George Ezra, Tyminski and Lucinda Williams in the CD player. Cold beer at the ready. Second game, I have one roll left, no zeros and need a Yahtzee. BAM!
    20180203_222743.jpg

Next game, second roll, BAM! again. Should have played the lottery instead of Yahtzee.

Since it's just the two of us most nights, we play two person games. I think bridge, followed by cribbage, is the best card game ever, but bridge takes four people. She likes canasta, so most times canasta it is. We have a lot of board games and dice games, but most of them are better with more than two people. Does anyone have any suggestions for two person board games?

My honey and I played Scrabble so often, that was how I was proposed to....

The problem is "Will you marry me" uses both 'Y's".... I figured it out: "I will do."

So... Scrabble can be fun for 2. We like the small travel board that folds in half with a zipper to secure it. The letter tiles snap into the board so they don't move if you need to put the game away before you finish.

That's way cool, and very creative. Did he have to cheat to get 13 letters?

Yes, just put the letters on the board, didn't fit it into a game in progress. Shock value was pretty high! And I found out later, hadn't thought through not leaving me a "y".

My woman and I like to play games too. We play Scrabble quite often. Cribbage is our "on the road" game. We always bring a board with us camping etc and there's a folding board and deck of cards in the truck for those quick games if we end up needing to kill time somewhere.

Chess is another one we enjoy, but she hasn't beaten me yet. LOL. When we get back home to visit my parents we play Carcassone with them. That's a good way to kill an evening. Dutch Blitz is fun when we have friends or family over. The classic Monoply as well.

We've recently started playing Sticks again. Not sure how well known this game is but it's a blast for us and we get pretty competitive. You need 4 full card decks to play and there's a bag of popsicle sticks with various hands written on them (ie. 1 run of 6 and 3 10's). You need to get that hand in order to finish your stick and get another one. You start with a dealt hand of 14 cards and each turn you pick up either from the deck or the discard pile and discard a card to finish your turn. A few other little rules involved but that's the gist of it. It's fun with 2 people and we've played with up to 6 people.

Sticks sounds pretty cool, kind of like Phase 10?

I haven't played Phase 10, but I think Sticks is a variation of it.

Here's a step by step breakdown of Sticks. FYI, we didn't use a fancy printer like they do in the instructables. We just wrote on sticks with a permanent marker.
