Got 62k on my Tundra right now and starting to hear a popping noise in the right side of my front end (while turning). Had new wheels put on today and they said the bearing is starting to get some play and will need to be monitored.

First time dealing with something like this, any recommendations on what to do or not to do? Doubt Toyota will cover it since I don’t have any type of extended warranty...

Hey Mike, popping doesn't sound like a bearing issue. I haven't experienced bearing problems on my 08 (Knock ), but usually you will hear a roar. Sounds like maybe a bushing, control arm. I would seek another opinion or wait till one of the experts chime in.

you can buy the part and do it yourself.
I believe there is a member on here and TW that sell bearing and hub pressed in.

Wheel bearings dont usually make a popping sound, more of a roar or grinding noise. Sounds like you have a cv axle on the way out. Get up under the truck and see if the rubber boots are torn and leaking out grease. Like others have said it could be a bushing in the control arm, but i havent heard of many people having that issue.

Thanks for info guys. Experiencing what i call a popping noise (for lack of a better word) when making right turns. Will definitely have Toyota give me a 2nd opinion. My bank account better hope I don’t get a reason to upgrade UCA’s or shocks...
