Bill Murray just called and told me that 6 more weeks of winter has been confirmed by Punxsutawney Phil today on Groundhog Day

    Who’s excited?

Better yet, who believes in Groundhog Day?

I don't believe in groundhogs day predictions, but he looks to be right this year. I need it to warm up soon for syrup season. looks like we may not start until late, late Feb this year.

If you've never been to Punxsutawney and Gobblers Knob for today's groundhog celebration you have no idea what you are missing....went about 3 years ago with a buddy and my gf. 20k people, booze, fireworks, festivals, and your home by noon. Quite the experience....

He would have died of hypothermia around here, about 14 degrees with some nasty wind. It was pretty brutal today.

I still have snow on the ground from last weeks storm, but we haven’t had squat for snow. Need moisture or fire season will be in full swing this year again.

@matluth, any change to the weather pattern or cold fronts coming in? (We all know he is a Metrology master, just an inside joke...and his usual funny responses).

I’ve heard folks seeing marmots for the first time describe them as “mountain beavers” or “rock beavers.” It’s fairly apt.

Amazing how a great woman and a familiar place brings it all together. Good for you, that’s all that matters. You did bring back the twin turbo right?

Yes we did find a little slice of CO to buy.
