Traded in my Tundra yesterday for a 2017 Tacoma Off road. I'm still searching for the perfect truck. The Tundra was just a bit too large for us. I already miss the 5.7 V8 and the comfortable ride in the heated leather seats. I won't miss parking it or squeezing through the bank or McD's drive thru. :)

But... The new ride is kinda cute. My 3rd Tacoma since 2008. Finally they have a sunroof!

FYI My Tundra was in perfect condition with 15K miles and I got $36,500 for the trade in.

Enjoy your big trucks! I'll hang around to keep informed and have a few laughs.

    Thanks for all the info!

    congrats on the new whip.
ps. I can't relate to squeezing into parking spots as I'm the guy 4 spaces over from the next car in an effort to stave off those door dings lol

Good looking Tacoma you got there.

I hope you'll be happy with your choice. I made a similar choice about 10 years ago when I traded a Ram 2500 CTD in on a Dakota V8. Although the Dakota had plenty of power the first time I towed a car trailer for an extended distance I knew I had made a mistake, not to mention the lack of comfort in the smaller cab (I am 6'2"), after a few month I was back in a full size truck and have been ever since.

I went the other way. I had a 2013 TSS Taco and when I got the wants for a new truck in 2016 I didn't like the smaller engine as it felt like it had less low end grunt. Transmission seemed to hunt a lot. Drove home in a MGM CM 2wd 4.6L Tundra. If they ever put the 5.7 in the Taco, I'll be back.

Nice looking Taco. If its manual transmission that will be fun to drive.

I just go "off-roading" in my Tundra thru the McD drive thrus. Concrete curbs? Pfft. Piece of cake in this beast.

I hope you enjoy the new Tacoma! I was looking at a manual Tacoma before I bought my Tundra, but at 6'4" 250lbs with a 3-year-old and a baby on the way I just couldn't live with that much less space in the Tacoma. I'm glad you found something that works for you, though!

Nice looking Taco you got! I still miss my 05 Taco (silver) but needed the Tundra for pulling our 34-foot camper. (Yes, she's a pain to park....we take the wife's Prius 2 or my commuter car, Scion (Toyota) iQ...the iQ only needs half a parking spot.

Let us know how the transition goes. I got rid of my 16 Taco for a multitude of reasons. Too small, under powered, crappy transmission, under powered... I hope you like it, I couldn't stand mine.

Seriously. I would have taken a hard look at a Taco with this engine if they had it available. They didn't so I had to get a 5.7 Tundra with more horsepower. The new 4.6 is amazing, almost 30 more horsepower than the 4.7 in my 2006 Tundra.

I could have used this idea two days ago!

I actually tried the 2 car thing a few years ago with a jeep wrangler and a honda civic. Didn't last long. Tired one moving cars in the driveway.
