I have a 2016 tundra and wanted to get any thoughts on adding another rear camera so when the tailgate is down, I will be able to see how close my truck is to other cars when backing up. I wanted to some how make the camera work with the radio unit so I could use that screen opposed to getting another screen unit. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Frac harness. You need to talk to @TundraTex. He's got the answers and the solution.

I have the harness already. @TundraTex is there any way to make this set up work with my existing FRAC harness ?

I'm working on an expansion module design that will allow an additional camera to be switched into the FRAC harness interface. It will add another switch that will let you choose either the OEM tailgate camera or any third camera to be displayed in Reverse or when the aft position on the FRAC cam select switch is selected.

I plan to use it for a camper trailer rear cam, but any camera input will work.

This is cool idea. My friend on his ram 2500 has it in the tailgate too, then switches a button and there's one in his 3rd brake light for towing and such

Great idea, I want one. Another idea is to make the existing rear camera swivel up when the tailgate is down.

I've been looking for something exactly like this. I want to add a Truck Camper to my Tundra on occasion. The campers I've been looking at require the tailgate to be removed. No tailgate = no camera. Would love to be able to utilize that harness when the tailgate is gone to add an aftermarket camera that would be mounted on the rear of the camper.
