Odd sound from the back of my truck..

Here lately I've noticed that when I make a hard turn one way or the other, there is a slight "boom" knock, whatever you want to call it coming from the rear of the truck. Sounds just like if I have something in my bed rolling around and it hits the side, but there is nothing in the back. Could it be my sway bar coming loose or anything else? Thanks..!

 

Checked the spare tire? I've heard leaf spring bushings might cause this too.

 

And check to make sure your bed bolts are tightened down.

Ha.. I know I know. It's still in the works. Just trying to get some other CC's paid down before I pull the trigger on it. I can buy it now, but trying to be the responsible adult, ha.

 

I usually blame that weird sound from the rear on barking spiders. My wife is not amused.

I can see by the mods you list in your profile that you are not a responsible adult. Actually, I don't think there are any responsible adults on this forum because none of us can leave well enough alone.

As far as your noise, check what was mentioned earlier and also check for any loose or broken exhaust hangers. What ever makes the noise most likely has mark on it from touching another component on your truck.
