I'm heading to Portland OR for a couple days in the beginning of February. I'm really into great beer so i want to hit a bunch of breweries but also don't want it to be just about beer. I definitely want to hit Voodoo Donut and Rogue (a friend told me to go to the Kit-Kat Club afterwards......whatever that is :anonymous:).

What other cool things are there to do. I'll be there Saturday thru Tuesday, i'm not getting a rental car and will need to find a cool place to watch the Superbowl. I'm not really a "go for a hike" kinda person.

Holy crap, was that still a thing there? As a kid we did a trip up to OR and i remember my dad feeling like a king having someone else pump the gas for the mini van.

Only in small towns if the gas station is not staffed at the time. So in city limits still have them do it. Rogue is cool. If you get a chance the main location in Newport is a good place to tour plus the food is good. Plenty of good food in and around Portland. Super Bowl I would imagine will be watching everywhere.

Voodoo Donuts has turned into a tourist trap. Unless you like hanging out with the homeless meth heads that hang out outside, bothering said tourists for spare change. Check out Little Big Burger if you get the chance, the truffle fries are pretty good. NW 23rd Street is pretty popular, lots of weird shops, food, bars (McMennamins has good food and a good beer selection from what I hear, I don't drink). People hang in the Pearl District too. Pretty much anywhere you go downtown, you'll be close to a brewery.

Take her to Papa Hayden’s on NW 23rd for desert one night. If you want a good steak dinner in that area Ringside is on NW20Th and Burnside. They have a better priced Sunday happy hour if you are looking to save a bit of money. Or Portland City Grill is a good goto as well.

Edit:Shopping NW area, Portland Square area in downtown. Also next to that mall is Punchbowl Social which is a huge bar with a couple bowling lanes, video games and if I remember right kareoke rooms.

The Pearl has shopping, Pioneer Place downtown has yet more shopping. It's easy to get around PDX in the Streetcar (monorail). Also check out Riverplace, the Waterfront and South Waterfront. The South is a new development, I think more shopping type stuff. Also from South Waterfront, there is a tram that goes up to OHSU (it's a hosptial) but up on one of the surrounding hills of Portland. Incredible views of the city, doesn't take that long (I think it's like 5 minutes one way), and only a couple of bucks. If you're feeling really adventurous while you're here, check out the Shanghai tunnels downtown, underground tunnels that were used back in the day to kidnap people.

Kidnap, smuggle goods, get sailors and prostitutes down to the docks and onto ships, all sorts of good stuff. Portland's always been full of high quality people.

Five top things to do in Portland

    1) attend a Global Warming symposium

    2) march for civil rights for Penguins

    3) use the bathroom of your choice

    4) check your privilege

    5) Use gender neutral pronouns

As others has mentioned, Voodoo is a tourist trap and the wait can be for hours but there's two locations if you're set on them. The Water District has a collective car meet Sunday evenings that runs for blocks if that's your thing. There's also some good restaurants down there, as is all of Portland. Pok Pok (Thai) and Bollywood Theatre (Indian) both off Division street are delicious and I usually hit at least 1 of them every time I'm there. Also, The Yard House downtown will be showing the game and has plenty of beer to choose from, plus a delicious tuna roll.
