A friend of mine bought a 2015 used. The original owner installed an auto start. When he picked up the truck the guy showed him how to start the truck with the remote. Since that day he has been unable to start the truck from the remote.

Any ideas? I don't know what brand of auto start it is. The remote is a factory remote.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Press the lock button three times and hold it down for 3-4 seconds on the third press it should start. That’s how my 16 factory remote works.

    Bwahahaha! That’s evil.

Reminds me of the time I watched a welder get people to yell loudly at his miller diesel welder to shut it down. He had the remote hidden in his pocket the whole time.

    Oh that is funny!!

We have a couple security gates to get through for my work. About once a week we have someone not know to scan the badge issued at security and buzz my office. I pick up the phone and move my cameras around to watch. I then tell them the scan badge is voice activated but the speaker is weak, so they have to yell their company name and work order. We get get a lot of enjoyment out of this.

Yep that's how my factory remote starter works, too.... Tell him the range isn't very far and, with mine if I back the truck into the driveway the stupid thing won't work. (But my battery may be weak, too...I need to pick up a new one)

Back in the early 80's, in the Air Force, we loved messing with newbies....I sent a greenhorn radio technician around the squadron looking for a tube to fix a radio, a Fallopian tube...he walked around asking everybody!! (One of many jokes we played)
