Bed lighting

I have some led bed light strips that I'll be installing soon. I had similar in my '13. What is everyone using to connect into to power the cargo bed lights? I can hide wires under my Bedrug pretty easily. Thanks for any help!

I also bought the Toyota bed light kit. If the weather plays along I will have a busy weekend.......Bed lights, Pop & Lock and Evo One remote start all needs to be installed.

 

are you installing additional lights? like on the rails I presume?

my '17 came with LED white lights mounted in the bed. is that not standard?

 

Not standard, it was an option and I believe it was only an option in the Gulf States region.

 

I had LED strips mounted under the rails on my '13. I have similar for my '18. We wired them into my tail lights on my '13, which worked out pretty good. The lights stay on long enough for me to get what I need. That was a whole lot easier than tearing the whole truck apart.

 

I wired the bed lights directly to a Blue Sea fuse block in the engine bay and have a concealed switch in the bed. I also installed puddle lights that I wired to the cargo light beneath the left rear door sill thanks to @RowdyRon. So, it just depends how you want to use them. I like the switch 'cause I can go out at night, turn on the light and grab something from the bed w/o ever opening a door.

I have to take a bunch of trim pieces out anyway because the other stuff I am installing. Besides that I already had practice doing it when I installed the JBL Enhancement kit. I got to give to Toyota, the truck is easy to work on.
