Heater core bypass

    My heater started leaking coolant on the passenger side of my 2001 tundra.i very rarely use heat so was wanting to bypass it .is there any video s or diagams of how to do it?thank you in advance and I did a search but came up empty.

    I don't have a guide for you but it's as easy as following the heater core hoses from the firewall, pick one and unhook it, then follow the other hose back to the engine, unhook it from the engine side, route the first hose you unhooked from the firewall back to the engine and hook it up where you disconnected the second hose.

    Take the second hose and loop it back to the firewall where you disconnected the first hose and secure it and you're all done.

    The second part probably isn't necessary but if you decide to replace it later you still have both hoses in the engine compartment.

    Good idea to reattach the heater core hoses (or at least secure them). Years ago, I did a temporary bypass on a car and left the heater core hose unsecured. The hose found its way to the headers and caught fire. No real damage to the vehicle but it was a little exciting until I could pull over and put the fire out.
