I try not to bring personal stuff but gang I need to talk

Today I got some bad news twice.

First we found a co worker at his house, he had a stroke sometime between yesterday veing and this morning. He did not show up for work, we called and finally he answered with a single word help.
Two co workers headed to his while calling his brother. My friend and co worker was found laying on his floor, awake but unable to speak and his right side had no movement.
He was transported to the local ER then med flight to a okc area hospital.
His house was ice cold, the heat was off, no idea how long he laid there.
I have no updates as of yet.

The second was that at about 5pm today a former co worker from my previous job, and friend had lost his battle with cancer.
RIP Bob, than you for the laughs and the friendship.

    Lots to take in today.

    Sorry and thanks.

    UDATE 01/03

Got some bad news today about my friend and co worker. He did suffer a major stroke with one blood vessel supplying blood to the brain 100% blocked, non repairable.
He cannot speak, open his eyes and has very limited movement if any on his right side.
He will never return to work and will need 24hr personal care going forward.
He does not show recognition when spoken to and does not open his eyes.

Still cant believe the last time I saw him, Friday of last week was going to be the last time we would speak.

I am doing ok, his family is and will be in m thoughts.

Make the most of each day folks, tell those you love just how much they mean to you. Never let that chance get away, you never know if it will be the last.

Thank you for the support, it truly means a lot.

    Update #2 01/04.

    Do you believe in miracles?
We got word this morning that my friend and coworker has sat up, with help stood up, had to be held to keep from falling to the right and sat up in a chair, an fed himself with his left arm.
He can count to 10 and is starting to recognize people.
He was transported back to town from a OKC hospital today to the local hospital and is in the rehab wing.
I am stopping in tomorrow to see him.
We cant believe it, from being told what we were on Tuesday to this today.

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers, I know he is along way from where he was before this, but he is not where we were told he was going to be.

Lots of happy cheers from everyone who heard the news today.

Hate to hear this news. Sorry to hear about your friend Bob. Hopefully your other friend didn't get any permanent damage. Strokes need to be dealt with quickly. It sucks he had to lay there for so long. Prayers go out to both families.

Sending prayers your way. Sounds like you guys saved his life. Great job calling. I hope he can pull through.

I know the feeling though. Some family and some people around me have been going through some unexpected medical issues lately.

I try to never take any day for granted.

Sorry to gear all this. It seems like when it rains it pours. Just sucks sometimes. I hope your friend recovered from his stroke, believe it or not it may be a blessing (as far as long term recovery goes) that his house was so cold. Hypothermia is often induced medically for patients that had strokes, Spinal injuries or heart attacks. The cold actually help preserve tissue and function. My thoughts are with him and you. Also sorry for your loss of your friend Bob. I hate cancer, it takes too many great people too soon. I absolutely hate it. I have a 35 year old friend who has 4 kids from 2-10, she most likely just had her last Xmas with her kids thanks to aggressive breast cancer. Fuck cancer.

My head hangs low for you man. It’s good that you came here to vent. Hopefully just letting it out will take some of the weight off of your heart. I come here often to get my mind off things. Typically I don’t express my problems but have in the past, only to find my Tundra family has my back. We all may not know each other personally other than through words on a screen. But I find that car guys in general are a special breed of people. Now make those guys, Toyota guys, and you got the best of the bunch.

Sending good thoughts your way. You can leave some of the weight behind on our shoulders.
