You’d be surprised. I’m pretty sure it can net you a ticket for insecure load around here, but it’s still rampant. Forrest Gump’s mama said it best...

    ...Stoopid is as stoopid does.

A lot of tourists who come here get hurt or put others in harm's way doing exactly the things you just mentioned (edit: that you didn't and don't do). Some die because they don't understand undertows, some die because they don't research certain hikes.

Maybe these same people wouldn't heed warnings anyway, so could all be moot points.

I wasn't trying to start any negativity, tho. Hard to get tone from forum posts.

Maybe it's just me but this right here is what I do before I go on a vacation. When I was up in Colorado in the stupid minivan even though it did nothing down where I was staying at I was still looking at the weather constantly checking road conditions constantly. Maybe it's just me, but if I knew I was going somewhere that I never been to, before I go and research and ask questions to people who know things about the area I'm going to. And for those who don't, you're right, it's a moot point... Survival of the fittest maybe those it people don't need to be around anymore. I might be coming off as harsh but its true. I think there are people in this world that are so stupid I'm wondering how they stayed alive this long.

    I agree with you 1000%.

There's a hike on one of the islands that has a dead count marked. Could be entirely made up, but it's there for a reason. People can be dumb sometimes.

Good advice. Maybe they should put some info out on TV. Here in NJ when it snows, most people don’t have a clue how to drive in it. I have seen cars spinning out and abandoned cars everywhere. Being from warmer climes myself I had to learn and am still learning. Thanks
