Hello. My 2010 tundra lost Power and start blowing oil smoke out of both dual exhaust. A lot more than a PCV valve will do, but I went ahead and replaced it anyway. Tell pipes are not connected to each other. Passenger side seem to be blowing more. But when I say blowing smoke, I mean really blowing it. More than if it was missing all umbrella sales. It has never smoked before not even that start up. I have not done a compression test but, it would be hard for me to believe I have two cracked heads. Please help
Lost of power means I cannot get it above 20 miles an hour. It did not run hot.

You have straight pipes from the manifold / headers back?

Original manifold. But yes, straight pipes. They’re not connected like the Lincoln town car does. If it was blowing out of one pipe with straight pipes, I would understand exactly what that was. Probably a blonde head gasket but maybe cracked head. But with it smoking out of each head/exhaust manifold/tailpipe, it makes no sense. I verified the day just to make sure they was not connected. They are going right side and side.

muffler shop only left about 2 foot of the original tailpipe on each side. The rest is brand new pipe and mufflers coming out of each side.

Thank you for your comment. You made me go out there and recheck. I was going basically about what I was told. But I did look last night and I seen where they did the change over. But this is something I’ve never seen before. I’m a before 83‘s mechanic. Really have anything like this back in my day. in my opinion it’s not a true dual exhaust. Both of the tailpipes go in one muffler and then two tail pipes come out of the muffler. so now I know I have a bald head gasket on the passenger side. Or cracked head. The smoke is darkest on the passenger side. So in a way you actually help me and the problem is solved. Next step compression test. Thank you so much

Hoping you find the problem and that it's a small one , along with hoping there isn't a cylinder that may have been hydro locked. Could a bad manifold gasket be pulling oil or coolant in from and outside
source ? It wasn't running hot is what you mentioned, was there a loss of coolant. how does the dipstick look, is there contamination of the oil on the pan ? Good luck with the compression test.

I did not and do not think that oil goes through the intake manifold. I know that it doesn’t happen in the 90s and older cars. But that would be a very nice thought. I would love to just replace that crappy plastic intake manifold that they put on them today.

i’m pretty sure it’s a head gasket. But may be a crackhead is my thoughts.

I said it did not run hot because if it did, there is a good chance that you could crack both heads at one time if you’re dumb enough to put water in it without it running when it

the water has no oil in it, and the oil has no water

as far as I know I am not losing water. Not enough to notice anyway

    thank you for your comment
