Tailgate cap upgrade

Has anyone found a good upgrade to the factory tailgate cap? I’ve looked at options for sale on line and also Amazon but am not sure what aftermarket product would be a good fit. My original cap is not only scratched and gouged but I hate how it feels loose and not solid. I replaced all of the plugs/pop-in plastic bolts but it still has play in it.

Very nice! I assume the powder coating is wear and weather resistant? We have some harsh winters in the Midwest so road salt exposer is a concern.

 

This is awesome. might be looking for this in the future.

 

My solution was to delete it and forget about it

 

I can only speak for how it fares in Southern CA weather, which isn't very helpful but it seems pretty tough.

We've dragged pallets on it and tapped it with forklifts, over and over. Dragged countless motorcycle ramps, lumber and other items over it and it's doing great.

 

Could also linex the top. I went with the tailgate delete option lol

 

Waiting for the aluminum version. Maybe if we arrange a group-buy with members putting down a deposit, would that light a fire to get things going?
