No Baja trip plans. If we do a Baja trip it would likely be truck campers, so no Tundras.

Installed the OEM power tailgate lock kit I picked up from @Jchetty today. I could have taken the easy route and just mounted the actuator and tapped into the wiring I had previously run from the KTJO kit, but I don’t like to half ass anything so I removed the KTJO kit entirely and then rerouted the OEM harness to complete the install. Pretty simple job with the biggest hassle being that I had to lower the spare tire to cut some of the old zip ties that I couldn’t otherwise access. The OEM kit is much quieter that the KTJO kit. My KTJO actuator broke after only a few months of use. I think the way it was mounted put too much stress on the end of the actuator and caused it to snap. Much happier with this kit and it also includes built in fuses where power gets tapped behind the kick panel.

Awesome install. That OEM kit is worth it weight in gold. Should outlast the truck.

One more LED headlight update. Painted top clear orange. Use Tamya Color. Have to wait 24hrs to put clearcoat protection on. Decided to match the fog lights. I'll post pic when done and reinstalled but this is what I did today.

Thats a nice setup you have there, I wish we had enough property to build something like that. I think we pay about as much per month to store our travel trailer as the monthly payment itself right now. They keep jacking the prices up at the storage facility.

is our coil tower brace that heavy? Or just awkward that it was just easier to use annengine hoist?

also, I thought someone wasn’t getting keys to their shop till Nov?

Feeling good enough and it was cool outside so I washed it. Finally ziptied up the dongar dashcam hardwire kit, and tighted the loose rearview mirror screw.

Mine weighs 30 lbs.. Bypass hoop and connectors complicate it a bit, it’s easier with the hoist when removing alone.

Mentioned that, going to do what’s needed before, and what I want after the trip. I haven’t talked to him, waiting to get it back from the cam tower repair before scheduling. If Kyle doesn’t have time, I have another shop that can do it, but obviously prefer he does the work.

The rodent threat is real. I had one living in the dashboard of my 2013 Tundra. Almost killed me. Like going to the ER. I actually contracted a parasitic infection in my lungs.

Basically. I played with a matte clear first, but went too heavy and got some yellowing. Gave me the idea to spray over with clear orange. If I did it again I would skip the matte layer. Top DRL does still shine through so top is now orange and bottom white.

    Just a heads up...

Doesn't look like you have the flange bolts (90080-10400) on your order...

If not, you'll need 2 of them as they don't come w/the hardlines, and they are used to secure the hardline brackets to pre-threaded mounting points.

Well shit! Thanks for calling that out! I'll get them added to my order. I was going off of the link I'd shared in my post and didn't see those in there.

I had the same thing happen...

Fortunately, another member posted the info about the need for the flange bolts in a different thread. I had already received my OE parts, but had not started the install, so I ended up ordering them separetely. Not ideal, but better than being halfway through the install and not having them!!

What is your opinion on those, as opposed to the older style ratchet straps? I hauled one of my motorcycle north a couple of weeks ago, and one of the ratchet straps decided to get twisted up. I've always thought they were kind of a PITA, and my buddy told me about the retarctables he had recently purchased. Are they as strong as the older variety?

I just installed them, so haven’t had a chance to test them out quite yet. They’re definitely high-quality all around though. They don’t feel like they’ll give out anytime soon.

Posting this here for visibility. The GR code - GRob25Q324 - is available not only for trans cooler parts, but ANY OEM parts. Still requires the login, but you can basically get 50% off OEM parts right now if you buy from dealership that are having their 25% off sale as this code stacks with that.

So, TLDR, if you're considering OEM parts anyway, use the code in addition to the 25% off sales (and free shipping) to save even more.

Can anyone confirm that part# 90105-A0450 is for the long upper control arm bolt and 90178-A0084 is for the nut?

    I have a 2018 SR5 Sport 2wd.

I'm getting different results between a local dealer site and Fred Andersons site.
