They get basically the same mpg comparing both in stock forms. I've had three 5vz (2 Tacomas and a T100) and two 2uz Tundras.

Miles driven from full tank to full same station and I was adding 8% on the miles. My fill ups are 22ish gallons 360 miles
a tank +8% that's 17 big dog. Drive with your big toe real easy

    If that's accurate, that's awesome.

I however find it hard to believe. I'm getting about 100 fewer miles on the trip OD per tank. My gas light comes on around 260 miles and truck takes around 21 gal if I fillup immediately.
    260mi+14.4%=297.44mi
    297.44÷21=14.16mpg
Of course these are rough estimates. Also I'm regeared to 4.56 and have full skid plates, sliders, bumpers, and a hard topper.
Also I have VVTI and a 5th gear.

    YMMV

    for sure

I've been getting slightly worse MPG this year. My theory is the new KO3's are heavier than the KO2's. I drove to Nashville for work meetings last week and got around 15.75. I used to be able to get 16.5-17 in the last. I'm also getting close to needing new spark plugs so that may help.

    Imma keep it stock
What does having a 5VZ have to do with mpg? They're rated practically the same. Maybe know some details before spouting off at the mouth.

they have less power and the motor weighs maybe 100lbs less than a 4.7...3.4s could be more economical average just because more were 5 speed. bam answered

I've actually been getting about 15ish going to town on 50/50 dirt/paved. Speed about 35 to 50 max.
265/70 r16 v8, auto, stock gears. (Stock tires were 245s)
