I’m about to install my cooler as I have everything to do the install. My OCD makes me review and analyze everything I do to my truck and research everything. To the question: I’m reading conflicting information on the 689 cooler regarding the GVWR rating. I’m seeing both 22,000 and 30,000. Which is it? I read an article explaining the 3x rule regarding trans coolers which states that the cooler should be at the very least 3 times the GVWR rating of the vehicle, in our case the tundra. Anyway, just curious whether it’s 22,000 or 30,000 GVWR. Thank you and have a great Sunday.

I'd say go with with bigger, more surface area to cool the transmission is never a bad thing. But I'd also wait for some replies with more experience.

My tiny Setrab 15-row cooler gets the temps to 185F, so the 689 should be no issue. It’s better to go smaller anyway as it won’t effect/block the AC condenser as much.
