    3-Switch Apple MagSafe Charger Tray
    Part Number RMF-004
    ORDER HERE

    IMG_1206.jpg

This tray is confirmed to fit the “Max” size iPhones (case thickness/size dependent). Any non-Max iPhones should work with about any MagSafe case.

The kit will include the panel with mounting hardware and template, the USB-C PD power supply with wire leads, and the 3M VHB tape needed for sticking it all together.

    Switch blanks are sold separately.
You will also need to provide your own official Apple MagSafe charger.

    Update 7/5/24:
I'm now printing the power supply housing in clear/translucent CPE+. There are two LEDs on the power supply - a blue one indicating it has power and a red one indicating something is plugged in (at least to the USB-C port). So with the translucent housing, you get a blue or purple glow when they are powered up.

Since the recommended place to mount these is down inside the transmission hump/console area, the glow isn't visible, but it was more just to see if I could (and to use up some material).

    3-Switch MagSafe Tray Install Instructions

    1. Cut out and secure the included paper template to the console tray using masking or heavy scotch tape. The top edge needs to be against the front edge where the tray angles up, and the left edge against the left edge of the tray.

    2. Using an awl or center punch, mark the center of the four circles. Also use a marker or similar to mark the outline of the cut out area.
    0A06CABD-0DCC-4668-B1D5-A97B888210DF_1_105_c.jpg

    3. Carefully drill the holes to 5/32" and then cut out the marked area using whatever means you prefer (dremel, oscillating tool, utility knife, etc.). When done, test fit the tray to the console piece (to make sure your cut out is large enough), and then MARK the opening where the MagSafe charger cord will route. (Note the holes in my tray are over-sized - this was a pre-production test).

    D5A02449-EE67-4AA0-90BC-07C49451CF1A_1_201_a.jpg

    4. Cut out the opening for the MagSafe cord by drilling a ~5/16" hole at each end of the marked area and cutting between them. Don't butcher the holes like the top-left one shown below in step 5.
    0ADD6AE6-7047-4E88-B605-ACAD51FE1CC7_1_201_a.jpg

    5. Install the MagSafe tray and then attach in place using the provided #6-32 screws and washers. Note that the washers go at the front (based on how the truck points) end of the tray where it is thinner. Be careful not to over-tighten. (image taken from the 6-tray install, but same concept).

    6. Install the VHB tape disk in the middle of the MagSafe area. Route your MagSafe charger cord down through the opening and then firmly seat it onto the VHB tape.

    7. Inside the truck, you'll need to determine where you want to source power for your power supply and use your preferred method for tapping into that power. Red is +12V and Black is Ground. You can opt for full time power by using a fuse tap off of a BAT fuse, or splice into one of your power socket circuits to use the factory wiring (I plugged mine into the power that originally went to my center console, since I had removed that plug and replaced it with USB+HDMI from my Alpine head unit).
Then secure the supply where the MagSafe charger cord will reach it.

    8. Plug in the MagSafe charger to the power supply and reinstall your console section.

I do not do a plate just for the MagSafe, unless you want to go the route of doing the Scosche kit and then I do have an adapter for the MagSafe in the Scosche kit.

Here are details on the adapter that I made for it:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/rainmans-2021-lunar-rock-trd-pro-build.77317/page-25#post-3135576

Otherwise, order the one I've got here in this thread and just get three switch blanks to fill the switch spots. You never know down the road when you might want some more switches.

Finally, the 1794/Platinum switch trim is available here:

This is an Amazon special “Mocca Designs” iPhone 15 Pro Max case and 3d printed dummy that was used for prototyping. It JUST fits with the leather-wrapped platinum shifter trim - it’s touching at the top and the bottom but the magnet in the case fully locks into the charger. With the standard (non-leather) shifter trim, there’s about 1mm gap. The side view looks angled because the case’s camera bump protector raises it slightly, but it still solidly catches the magnet.

I don’t know about the 16 Pro Max or 17 Pro Max and how their dimensions compare to the 15 Pro… and bigger/thicker cases will be an issue even with the 15 Max.

I do know that I use it every day for my regular 16 Pro. I’m not a fan of the size of the Max phones, but I know a lot of people are.

i have a 13 pro max iphone and a 2016 tundra platinum - i think im gonna pull the trigger on this next week once i get back to town.

think ill also order a window reloaction harness and move the rear window switch there while im at it.

i already have the center console charger, and I like it but im assuming this ones quicker. If i go that route IDK if ill remove the current one or just leave it. I also have the scosche magic mount but i like the way yours utilizes the space better. Im hoping the new usb outlet i installed there wont interefere

That USB port will be fine.
You’ll want a MagSafe compatible case for the best charging performance, and it solidly holds the phone in place. The Magsafe charger (you’ll need to supply your own) charge faster than those console lid ones for sure.
