    25 Tundra non-hybrid

Need this guy to last me 10+ years. Have the 10/25 for a security net and love my truck so far.

Was considering swapping the OEM Mobil 1 for Amsoil Signature. Keeping my oil intervals at 5k, just want extra protection. I know this is a controversial topic, just want a little more security and I've read that Mobil 1 isn't the elite oil it once was.

Looking at Amsoil, RP, or Schaeffer.

    Thanks boys !

I like amsoil and use their premium trans fluid for my trans. But oil changes are kept to Mobile1 with oil for every 5k miles. I've sent many oil samples (other vehicles) to be lab tested, and the lubricity & viscosity were never out of spec, even at 10k-12k miles. Personally I don't think the cost difference is worth the switch to Amsoil. JMPO

Appreciate your insight. My truck is a 10/24 build. Motor "should" be good but want to give it as much chance as I can.

I've heard some good things on Royal Purple too, but don't know if that's worth the switch. .

I think the best security for our engines is a break-in oil change. My build date was 2/24, did my first oil change at about 1000 miles.

You can’t really go wrong with good name brand oil, personally I’m a fan of Valvoline, mobile 1 is also good, royal purple is good but pricey

None of that will make a real difference. The motors don’t fail due to oil quality. It’s good practice to do oil changes regularly with quality oil for longevity, but it won’t prevent the failure that these engines are having.

My truck is a September 2023 build with 39K miles, and like you, I am doing everything within my control to give my engine the best chance of survival. I determined early on to use Amsoil Signature Series oil for the first time ever. Other than the claims made by Amsoil, I haven't seen any compelling evidence that it is significantly better than Pennzoil, Castrol, Valvoline, etc., but I believe it's a very good oil. I could spend a couple hundred dollars on a series of oil analyses, but I chose to spend that on oil. If my engine has debris, faulty bearings, or a design weakness, it may eventually die regardless of the oil I use. On the other hand, using what I believe is one of the best oils available may provide better protection for turbos, timing chains, etc. in the long term.
I also use top tier premium gas. I always thought the only advantage of 93 octane was a potential slight performance increase. Then I saw the Motor Oil Geek video that discussed Shell's claim of decreased carbon deposits and decreased cylinder wall and piston ring wear associated with their premium fuel. His video also discussed a European study that confirmed at least some premium fuels do indeed reduce cylinder wall and piston ring wear. So, I started using premium fuel.
If my engine is destined to die, it will die regardless of the oil or fuel I use, but if it is a good engine, the oil and fuel may help it to last longer than it otherwise would.

Oh yippie another "what oil should I use?" thread ...its been like 5 minutes since someone started another one of these threads and was beginning to wonder if anyone cared what oil they should use.

Should I chime in that my bought-new-from-the-dealer 1997 T-100 with the 3.4L V6 has got to 275,000 miles with dinosaur oil and approx. 3k oil change intervals?

Should I? Oh. Sorry: asking for a friend. :crapstorm:

Whats the biggest tire you can run on that bad boy without any lift? I want to stuff 39's in there...do you think it will fit?
