A majority of Cold air intakes are downgrades to hot air intakes. For a tundra, your best bet is what is called the SABM or stock airbox mod which involves drilling an extra hole in the air box and inner fender wall and installing flanged fittings and then joining them with a small piece of hose allowing extra air into the box. Do a search and you will find lots of info. The other thing you can do with or without the SABM very quickly and cheaply is the TRD airflow accelerator which uses the proven principals of a velocity stack to increase the airflow into the box. I recommend an AFE dryflow filter or a Wix paper filter for good flow and filtration.

    ^^This^^
Or go with a Stillen which is essentially a SABM without cutting your fender wall.

I really, really enjoy mine. Easy install thanks to the youtube and noticed immediate low end power gains thanks to the front scoop. Honest to god noticeable butt dyno gains, which i have never experienced with other CAI systems

Install a fresh OEM filter and call it a day. Carbon infused if you spend a lot of time sitting in traffic, or drive by a stinky processing plant of some sort often.

The factory cold air intake is fine, don't mess with it.

The Stillen is a night and day difference over the stock intake.

I don't know about butts or dynos probably not noticeable with a blower. I know it made a difference for IATs on my set up. Brings them down much more quickly than without it.

    None for now
I may have something to address this

more info to come if it all pans out well

but this will allow the retention of the OEM airbox/filter /maf location, but replace the tube/ugly bendy section/ & the sound dampner. & it has bungs for the 2 OEM lines (couplers are a tad loose on the pipe, so need to find a more suitable coupler)

I have the trd intake and like the growl even if there are no performance gains. I use the washable, reusable k&n cabin air filter
