I'm sure Ive regretted doing worst things in the past and who know what's to come but if you dont live a little on the edge do you ever really live. At least you all get the pleasure of seeing me go down in flames

Yeah, you should probably avoid the whole using dope to sleep path to success...

 

Do you have a way to track your sleep? Apple Watch, Oura ring? These can be helpful to monitor your sleep patterns and vitals while sleeping. Resting heart rate, HRV, deep sleep, REM sleep etc.

 

Can't help you there, can't say I haven't done it, All i know is if I start snoring before I have a chance to stop breathing my wife is either shaking the bed or kicking me to wake me up to stop me from snoring . You ever have sleep apnea tests done?

 

Do a sleep study. Super easy - you wear a ring on your finger for a few nights, it measures several stats and then send the ring back to review the data.

Anyway I’d reckon you have sleep apnea. The ol CPAP should do you well.

I wear an Apple Watch to bed every night to record vitals. Pre-CPAP the lowest my heart rate got was like 55 bpm (my resting heart rate is -around 53) and my blood oxygen would dip into the LOW SEVENTIES!

Post CPAP I’m regularly 40-42 bpm and blood oxygen is high 90s on account of our elevation - this is during sleep, just to clarify. No more snoring. Regular respiratory rate. I don’t wake up randomly throughout the night. And most importantly to daytime-Matt is that I feel well rested. I’m so acclimated to my CPAP that I can’t sleep if I don’t have it.

Get a sleep study done. They either give you a wristband to wear for a few nights or you overnight it in a facility where they do direct observation.

Definitely go the Aliens route on the CPAP mask.

On a totally unrelated note, congrats to whomever won the Powerball jackpot from Missouri and Texas. That’s some life changing money right there. I hope it remains a source of goodness throughout your lives.
