Recently purchased my truck with 80k miles and assuming plugs haven't been changed. How often should plugs be replaced?

I believe the service interval is 100k miles.

I did mine at 108k. Fairly easy. Just make sure you have right socket wrench and anti seize for threads on new plugs and make sure gap is set correct. Peace. D

Just curious, has anyone replaced theirs at 100k yet and remember how they look?

I was like you I always put anti-seas on my plug threads. But I just learned recently that you should never do that. I don’t know how true this is but it came from a master mechanic and he was saying the old school they used to do that, but it is very bad to do today so just a thought and personally, I will be doing what he said because I know him, and he would not steer me wrong I wonder what everybody else’s thoughts are

I have been replacing spark plugs in my Toyota trucks and cars since 1985. I have never used anti-seize on a spark plug. And.........I have never had any difficulty getting a plug out.

Since this is technically a plug replacement thread I'll show my Tundra OEM plugs at 69,000 miles.

Aluminum heads= no to anti seize
Steel heads= yes to anti seize

    You have aluminum heads.

I remember reading somewhere that said the same thing.

have changed spark plugs on other newer vehicles without anti-seize and had no problems changing them later.

Replaced my plugs today at 82,000. New OEM plugs installed. Going up and over Teton pass works the hell out of plugs. Job is straight forward. Torq to spec, no anti seize as well.

I have the same set. An absolute must (or equivalent) for the DIY person (I would have said "guy" but some of you girlie men would have gotten your panties in a bunch.).

Yes. It's 3/8ths. Yes. It's 5/8ths. Yes. It's 9/16ths. It's...............it's................it's everything you could ever want. Even makes julian potatoes.

151k on the Sequoia and pretty sure the plugs are OEM. Still runs like a top.

You don’t want to run plugs too long as it can damage the coil packs, then you have a more expensive repair. BTDT.
