Nice! That reminds me I still need to install mine. I have been on the fence where to mount it. I might have to do this.

So it’s above the level of the metal lip, meaning it’s not the windshield surround? Hard for me to tell.

I dunno where the seam sealer is in these trucks, if there’s any in the rack channels. But would inspect that also.

Reality is, if it’s leaking there from the rear of the truck, then when the nose is up, it’s leaking in the rear of the truck also.

Been using what little time I get to myself to get at the timing belt on my truck. It's not quite accessible just yet, but close. I pulled the radiator, and most of the serpentine belt accessories, still have to pull the crank pulley, fan bracket, and un-bolt the AC compressor (I hear you can remove the driver side splash guard for easier access for the AC compressor bolts).

Bad news is I let my wife use the pressure washer on the deck the other day, and she stripped a ton of stain off the deck (I told her to not put the nozzle close to the deck, but didn't listen), so now my plan is to work on the truck when it's raining, and the deck when it's not raining... Fun times.

Seems to not be the windshield seal as that's further downhill than where I have circled, windshield appears to be original Toyota glass.

I have noticed water in the corners by the rear seats before, I think that was what made me decide to change the 3rd brake light seal but it's still there from time to time. Could be coming from the same source.

Guess I just need to get out there with the water hose one day soon and find out what area it's coming from.

It's really not a whole lot of water that is leaking in and my rubber floor mats catch every drop of it. Just don't want it finding it's way to the fuse box.

    Looks nice, good location!

When I considered adding more sound than I did, I looked at using one of these volume knobs for a bass knob. But just went smaller and kept the factory headunit / amp.

So for about the last year or so, the battery light would sometimes come on and off while I'd be driving. Nothing too serious since it never stayed on too long. I knew the alternator was going to give up and die soon, it was only a matter of time. Well, this week it happened. It dropped in power and was having a hard time maintaining the battery at 12.1v. While it technically didn't "die", it was time to replace it. (Especially since I'll be taking it on a trip tomorrow) Swapped it out this morning for an upgraded 80amp alternator. Im impressed at how easy and fast it was to take off/on, 2 bolts and a belt. Also impressed at how long it lasted: Factory OEM alt. 241,XXX miles on a 2002 Tundra V6. They just don't make them how they used to anymore.

Yup. Good call. My original failed after 304k. I didn't have any warning. It made it about 3 miles after I realized what was going on. Cool thing was it died close enough to walk to O O O O'reillys and grab one real quick to get home.

Near 300k miles. Original alternator hasn't failed. Well... unless you count Toyota telling me the alternator was bad and needed replacing back in 2010.

Nice. I usually just lay the handle down over the ball on the hitch and roll them up and down on their own wheels. You’re on gravel though, so may not roll as well

I shuffle my feet as i drag my can out. Kicking the center rocks into my wheel tracks, but when i mow the dip i take a bucket and shovel, and collect asphalt, and i have less center rocks to kick.

    The OEM looks brighter?:notsure:

Anyway, you need to reread the picture posting code of conduct. You’re required to be barefoot when working on your truck and your reflection pics must have an obligatory middle finger

Well after spraying penetrant every 2-3 days after driving home from work, the O2 sensors crack open like butter. However, I can’t seem to get that damn driver’s side O2 sensor unplugged.

Anyone know if there’s a trick to pulling it out of the connector while you’re pressing down the tab?

You can only do one or the other as only one arm will fit in there. Seems like I need a tool to pull on the wires from an another angle while I push on the tab. I’m not sure what to use here.

I kid...maybe try some penetrant on the clips. They're probably just jammed up with dirt and crap.

the relevant caption is BELOW each pic...if not brighter, theyre definitely not yellow [brightness best measured at dark].
Worth the cost? Only if the ZEVOs last 'lifetime' as stated.

I didn’t want to get penetrant on the electric contacts. I feel like I need 18 inch long pliers to make it work. I remember doing this in 2010 and it took me a 1/2 hour to try and finagle it with one hand. I didn’t want to go through that again if someone has a better idea.

Wipe them down after and put some dielectric grease on the connectors before you put them back together. It'll be fine.

If you pull the wheel can you reach around the frame (hug it) to get to both sides? I can't recall.

Sometimes pushing both sides together first helps break the seal. IE push together then press tab and pull.

No, not really any access via my arm under the apron from the wheel well. I already tried that.

I can definitely try the push and pull tomorrow when the rain clears up. Thanks.
