Thank you. I knew that used got a lower discount, but wasn't sure if any of it survived.

I'm honestly ok with there not being a tax credit for it. I hate that all the pricing everywhere is always some fake crap and that's just one less thing that the price can "include" to lure people in.

I am the biggest fan of the credits GOING AWAY.

the credits should have been available to everyone.

    it was Gov theft.

Me too. Just wasn't wanting to risk that line. I know @Azblue is always watching for something he can use to ban me. I have to be careful. :spy:

I personally don't like Gov rebates, like $8K for new home buyers, $7.5K for an EV, or even tax credit for having kids. As you stated, Gov benefits should apply evenly across the board for all. I am also a realist and realize that will never happen as the Gov has agendas and always will. So when I do qualify I am not turning it down but would rather it all went away.

    Agree.

Hate the forced theft of our tax dollars.

But.. my Tesla’s value is about to get a decent bump next qtr, I'm not mad about that.

Well, woman found the one she wanted. Dual motor adventure with max and performance packages. Dealer had it listed as a basic adventure and priced a little lower than it should've been for the packages. They were asking 72,500...got it for 70k and sold her MYP for 26k. Way better ride and feel from the RS1. 2024 with 11k miles.

    No.

ex: as it relates to EV's...Big 3 ev's are not profitable. or good.

    the market buys good.
the market does not buy bad.

I'm unclear which part of good is debatable.
    other than it being opinion.

one factor, in this economy, that blurs all this is affordability.....

people buy what they can afford, not what they want.
    Ex: Stellantis and/or Nissan products

Starbucks really benefits from this factor....

Just because it sells the most doesn't mean it is good.

    yes, the market buys stupid.

Marketing to stoopid-ass, social media addicted, brain dead, idiots...has a profound affect on weird purchases.

    hence, my Starbucks example.

I'll even stretch this out....and say there are very few "good' products out there.

Tesla is probably one of the good ones.
I think they are running easily over 200k miles, just like the Camry.

to your point...good products are not demanded by the general public.
they buy what the phone tells them to.
    or
    what they can afford.

this is why we see so many Hyundai/Kia - Stellantis - Nissan on the road.
they are simply affordable. by design.
they are more of a finance house, than a car company.

    another great example: CVT transmissions!!!!
I bet 90% of the people that buy them have no idea they buy them.

    but Tesla?

    I disagree.

They check all the same boxes that a Camry does. with 90% less maintenance.

for someone to say they have no idea why Tesla M3 sells is quite disingenuous.

sorry I keep using the M3...I just noticed it was the MY

    that's a whole nuther story.

    EVERYONE owns a MY.

I will modify this a tad:
for someone to say they have no idea why Tesla MY sells is SUPER_DUPER quite disingenuous.

Not all the boxes. It checks the very high level boxes. However, when you get granular the interior design decisions and, if the article and plenty of user testimony is to be believed, creaky and poor assembly do not meet the standards of the Camry.

I legitimately believe a big portion of why they sell is due to relevant competition in the space. If there were an equivalent EV that had a standard interior I would bet dollars to donuts (no idea where that saying comes from) that it would eat the Model 3 and Model Y sales numbers pretty rapidly.

The lack of competency in the EV market is staggering.

Mainly playing devil's advocate here for the sake of fun conversation. Thank you for participating. :fistbump:

I think Tesla is so good because they started out to make the best EV's.

every other EV is gov mandated slag.

The singular focus on EVs definitely helps.

I just wish they'd poach some interior engineers from other companies, like how Kia got the guy from Audi (I think?) to do the Telluride when it launched.

Not honestly sure why I care. I'm never going to own a Tesla.

    Interior design is subjective.

Poor interior quality was definitely a thing, in early production years.

Certain things are subjective, but having it all in a screen in the center of the dash is objectively a distraction element.

Honestly, with the major push that they are so advanced, I am shocked Tesla doesn't just use a HUD.

I'll push back on that. :p

Too many buttons can be a distraction as well. I think we all adapt to what we have. I can just a easily navigate the touchscreen in the Tesla now as I can all the knobs and buttons in the Tundra.

No matter what, they are both somewhat of distraction.

The knobs (giggity) are tactile and can be operated without looking away. That's not possible with a screen.

Best case, you have exceptional peripheral vision and can pull it off with minimal distraction, but that is not the norm. The safer option will always be tactile buttons/switches/knobs because far more people will be able to operate them without taking their eyes off the road. Same goes for the dash being behind the steering wheel instead of in the middle of the dash.

Tesla is trying to reinvent the wheel, when just the level of EV battery tech they have is enough.

Whatever this forum told me to do
I fairly recently got around to fiddlin' with all the tech in our MX

    tactile knobs...I get it.

The left rolly thing manages all the stereo - merely using your left thumb.

and I easily told the Tesla to make the left rolly thing do the A/C temp as well....when I hold it down for a second.

that's REALLY safe....because I never have to take my hands off the wheel.

evidently, you can program all those buttons to do all kinds of crap.

I just scratched the surface...because usually I break shit when I do stuff.

Another neat thing: I told my iphone to play a certain Pandora channel when I bluetooth attach to the Tesla.
    but that's not Tesla specific.

Do you have to look at the screen to see what you are doing to the AC with that switch?

    not really.

but, the logic screen pops up on the center dash*.

also - you can hit the "microphone" button with your right thumb and tell the damn car to do anything you want it to do....like make the A/C be 68 degrees.

*reminder....the MX & MS have a "normal" center dash screen - albeit, way more super awesome than normal.
