I'm not sure if you actually meant the hood scoop or the hood bulge but here are a couple posts from another thread that show close up shots of the 40" S8 lightbar in the hood bulge without the screen

That night rider function is cheesy AF. I would never use that.

TracRac bed rack, Retrax bedcover, Anytime forward facing camera, Rago dash mounting plate, changed all lights to LED with 1200lumen reverse light, added LED above tag reverse light, rear bumper step, Go Rhino step sides, CCM Cat Security Shield, tool mounts on bed rails, added tie down pad eye on bed rails.
Thanks. Yeah I meant hood bulge. That doesn’t look too bad. I wonder if you could cut the ends off the screen and use them to cover the gaps or put something else there to fill that in.

I would like one myself. It’s something that I don’t want to attempt. Need to find someone that knows how to do this and carefully.

To fill the gaps at the ends I would think that could be done with a bent piece of metal bolted to the lightbar bracket and butted up to the light and that should fill that gap. What I'm not sure about is, doesn't the hood bulge/screen have a slight cure to it? If so that would result in a gap that I'm not sure there is a way to fill/cover. I don't have my truck with me to verify right now, maybe someone who's put a lightbar in theirs can confirm if there is a slight curve or not.

When the S8 is installed, there will be about a 3/4 inch gap between the bottom edge of the bulge and the front of the bar. That is why I used the screen on mine. Cutting the ends off of the screen just for the ends would look like crap.

Thanks, will do. Appreciate the offer. How would the backlight work with a SwitchPro? I’ve already wired up a 9100. Thanks.

Hey Redline870, You can either wire in the backlight feature into a separate switch on the unit itself or tie it into any key on the ignition lead.

Hi Tundra234, I'm curious how the install went. I wanted to go this route but wasn't too sure how the install will be. Did you have the cut the metal braces? Do you have a video on the install? Thanks!

The install isn't hard. I used the SDHQ mounting kit, just like Tundra234 did.
Yes, you will need to cut the braces. That's super easy with an angle grinder. Drilling the 3 holes with the holesaw is the hardest part. Just buy a new holesaw bit in the proper size and go slowly.

Thanks for the info! Do you need to cut the braces for the NSV or just the Baja S8?

Just the Baja. Headlight Revolution has an NSV install video on their site. The difference between the 2 bars themselves is the NSV is 9,000 lumens and the Baja is over 20,000.

Thanks for the info! What's the length S8 did you get for yours? Did you install a switch pro or whatever.

Sorry to bug again. When you did this, how did you keep the front screen? The back side of the screen comes off or something? Trying to mentally prepare what I need to do if I pull the trigger on going this route plus and sPod mini 6.

I have the Spod mini 6 myself. Pretty great. Hit up @RainMan_PNW to get the switch panel setup all factory looking. He did one for me. It's probably pretty awesome. One of these days I will actually install it! In the mean time I use the Spod app.

Also, if you don't want to put the screen on, but hate the little gap, just spray paint everything in the bulge area flat black. Works well, and the gap is far less noticeable.

The screen can be separated once you remove the plastic scoop from the bulge. If I recall, there are some screw holes that you can use to install it to the bulge. I have a spare bulge that is set up but I will have to look at it to see how I mounted it. It was 4 years ago lol.

Got it. I can check it out when I do order all the parts. Just really love the clean look you have with the screen.

Thanks for the info! I will need to hit him up on that. Just makes me nervous if I wanna cut the leather below the gear shift since I have a plat.

Derailing from your post and the topic of this thread, but are you running wheel spacers or different offset rims on that truck? What size are the tires? It looks good.

I assume it’s lifted? And did you need to do a body mount chop to fit those tires?

Yup, about 2.5" in the front, 1.75" in the rear. Yes, BMC.
