That's a pretty truck! Love that color. That will be sold before end of day today I bet.

Yesterday unloading some furniture one my 11 year old couldn't open the tailgate handle without a lot of effort....knowing some moron was bound to uggadugga and break it, I stopped and opened up the tailgate panel and gave everything a blast of sillycone. Opens with one finger again.

Last week I took my rack off and put the canopy on for the first time since I got it 6 years ago. I use the rack all the time since it’s my work vehicle but we went car camping and wanted to take more crap than fit in the car.
The canopy has suffered some since I left it in the trees for those 6 years but still worked great. The struts are shot, clear coat is starting to go a little, the lights aren’t working, a few of the seals are loose, lock doesn’t work (neither does my tailgate lock apparently).
My rack is the type that should work with the canopy but needs to be modified and I haven’t had time.
Got pretty amazing fuel economy on the one tank I could calculate, 19mpg versus my typical 13mpg, that was mostly highway though.

Looks good. I will never have a truck without a topper again.

Sorry for the delayed reply. The squeak I had was from the vibration of the seat adjustment bar. It was high pitched and in rhythm with the vibration of the road. I was getting it at some highway and some surface street speeds.

I want a topper like 50% of the time. Keep looking at soft toppers, but not sure how they do with the amount of rain we get here.

Ours used to be like $40, before they cut the safety inspection. Now they just charge a new fee to cover that otherwise lost revenue when we register. IMHO whoever got rid of safety inspections is a piece of shit. I'd much rather ditch emissions. Safety actually matters. I don't want to share the road with shit boxes that couldn't even pass safety inspection. It's bad enough we share the roads with most people that can't drive for shit, now there's going to be thousands more unsafe vehicles on the road, too.

I pay ~$43, shop around and look in the Penny Saver or whatever they call the junk mailer these days. Loyalty or "keeping it local" gets you nowhere these days

What @KNABORES said. I did the same trimming on my truck and no rubbing. You may have to do a little but none will be noticeable.

Ever since OBD2 became available, nobody does the ancient art of tailpipe emissions testing anymore.

I wonder why that’s necessary there? Edit: I don’t see an actual measurement so it looks like they just did a quick check like here.

My latest vehicle to go through tailpipe emissions was an 81 Buick Regal with a carburetor.

Here in the parts of Oregon that test, they only sniff the tail pipe if your vehicle didn't come with OBD2. Standard test every 2 years on a newer vehicle they just plug it in and let it idle while it scans. Can't remember how much they charge here. When I got my truck I was spending most of my time in the country in a smog free county, next year I'll have to get it smogged.

Yeah here they just plug into the OBD2 and pressurize the gas cap.

Yup, the state computer has an air tube with a selection of fittings for various gas caps, to check the pressure seal of the cap.
