    Small update on my swap.

I wish they were on here to give them the props, but big shout out to ECS Performance for doing me a solid today. The long block comes nearly complete with the exception of a few peripherals. Turns out, the oil filter housing (the part that the filter cap screws into, and that the oil cooler bolts to) is one of those peripherals. I was unaware, and this is one of the only new replacement parts I did not order.

Anyways, ECS already has a replacement ordered so there is zero risk of debris or contamination in the oiling system on the new block. They just simply didn't feel comfortable reusing it.

After the wait and the cost of this build, I'm beyond thankful they are being as meticulous with the swap as I have tried to be planning for it.

@bflooks Can't wait to see your build!

Quick update: Got all I need for the coolant/heater core by-pass and the ATF warmer removal. I will use one of the hose connected to the warmer for the by-pass. Will do it this weekend. :fingerscrossed:

What are the circled parts for, exactly? I'm tracking the elbows and o-rings. Are you keeping the metal lines on the valve cover?

Looking good! I haven't had any issues with the elbows. Napa brand hose seems to fit pretty snug.

Just picked this GESi Downpipe up from the fabricators... This is why we wait for him and him only. Dude welds like a robot... Just beautiful!

My plan is to completely remove the heater core hoses and the warmer. We don't need heater in PR :bananadance:.

    20250826_123606.jpg

I will flush the heater core and put the 2 hose rubber caps to protect it.

    20250826_125625.jpg

The other are the hose connectors to do the coolant bypass in the front:

    20250826_125639.jpg

    20250627_130533(1).jpg

All metal lines and hoses will not be necesary after the bypass in the front.

Nice! Glad to know! I am going to used one of the short hoses connected to the warmer. But if that leaks Napa can be the way to go. You got Napa 5/8 in. inner diameter?

@Jego have you also bypassed the coolant lines that run to the throttle body? You definitely don't need that if you don't even need the heater core.

Definitely! Thanks for reminding me. It's the perfect time to do it. I'd forgotten that part too!

I will take a look of it and do it as well! Thanks

Ooops, I don't have a 3/8" hose. I can't find the photo you posted recently. Did you add a short 3/8" hose extension or replace it completely?

If you have the hardline to cooler then it's about 14 inches? from elbow to hahardline. So a little over 28 inches for both supply/return.

    Congrats! @martiartisan

Can't wait to watch your install and hear about your experience. The kit is so refined and the installation is well documented with most "install specific" steps having been talked through that I'm almost jealous of anyone doing it.

I'll add you to "The Backroom" now.
