Sent a few texts, called and left a message. Hopefully it ain't spam. Number was a Wyoming number but Driggs is literally on the border of Wyoming, so not a red flag there.

Details shall be forthcoming, but the seller seemed like a cool guy. Came out of his factory TRD Maggie RCSB that blew up (the blower). Swapped in another motor and installed a 2650. Should hopefully make for a good rebuilder core.

 

That's why I tagged (and then texted) the two people I know in that part of the country and luckily @blenton ordered something the other day so I cross referenced where he lived to make sure it was the correct side of the state

I have a 2020 and Whipple included injectors. Didn’t Toyota stop offering flex fuel in 2017?

 

A free running 5.7 is an amazing find (and a really generous offer)

 

A PayPal dispute brought a particular core refund to fruition nearly immediately, and I waited until the last day I had the ability to file it to do so to provide every opportunity.

 

It's really unfortunate, but sometimes folks just need a little pressure to do the right thing in a timely manner.

I think many industries have unfortunately become accustomed to not having a decent level of accountability to their customers over the last several years. It's really too bad...

 

Driggs is a couple hours from me...I tried but it "sold"

Just confirmed that my dude DID get injectors after XAT emailed Whipple letting them know that the injectors did not show up in the box.

It was my understanding as well that the Flex Fuel option disappeared around 2017. Just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy and hadn’t purchased an actual flex fuel vehicle, I checked the gas cap on my ‘21:

Picked up the motor this afternoon. The seller was a cool guy. He’s owned about eight tundras throughout the years and currently has a RCSB 5.7 4x4 with an sos lowering kit and Maggie 2650. He had a few other cars next to the wife’s minivan - half with a blower, half in the process of getting one

He’d fit in around here.

While I was there, a buddy of his - also a cool guy - showed up to take a supercharged LS and 6l80 off his hands. Not sure it’s going in to this truck or another project, but he is a part of this build:

It was fun chatting with them.

Anyways, the motor is supposedly a high mile runner but burns a little oil. It had a 1900 on it but sent a some metal through the motor from the rotors wearing in to each other, or some such. I’ll get it to the shop, maybe pull the plugs and put a scope down it.

I’ll look in to having it built. Guess I have an excuse to order the party pulley now.

I was hoping to find a RCSB 5.7 4x4 when I was looking for a truck so we could slam it. My PLC contractor has one, but ain’t giving it up.

We just completed a 4500+ mile trip with 3 people a dog and all the gear that goes with it and then some.
Las Vegas, NV to Ontonagon, MI.

I planned for a hell of a fuel bill, but instead was very surprised, and averaged 17.2 mpg and she didn't miss a beat the whole trip. Pulling hills in 5/6 was nothing and she just kept pulling.
I was only expecting maybe 12mpg.
