Those didn't exist when the first post was made, I don't think. But so far as I know, they'll install with the same process. I think we were still on the Y1 when the first post was made.

I ended up throwing my old lamps back in since I had a camping trip to get the truck ready for. But before I did that I was able to mess around with them for a bit and figured out that theres a couple of tiny philips head screws that i needes to tighten up to keep the lenses fully secure and in the correct position--something i overlooked when I rushed to put them in initially. This allowed me to finally see the bluish aberration cutoff lines but they projected very low and I ran out of time to get everything configured correctly. I'll have to go back and throw them in and do that this weekend probably.

The initial pictures I posted with that weird light output was caused from what I think was the nose of lenses pointing too far down (since the screws weren't fully tightened) which is why I couldn't even see any traces of the cutoff line. Picture attached of what I'm referencing

Nice, that's great. It's been long enough since I did mine that I can't picture what screws you're talking about, but I'm glad you figured it out.

Finally got around to messing with installing these again. I dont know if it's an issue specific to the Y16's or just a bad batch but they run extremely hot. It looks like another bulb burnt immediately after install--they already sent me one replacement with a similar issue back in April but i been running my old halogens until now. In the pic, on the driver's side you can see the dark hole in the center of the beam output. I just emailed colight again to see if they can just send me Y6s instead.

Hey guys, been following along with this periodically. Without having to read back thru 16 pages can somebody help me out with a little info

Has anyone done the original retrofit projector assembly WITH the high output relay harness and run a high output HALOGEN bulb with the projector?

I would like the standard 3300k look from a standard incandescent halogen bulb, i know its probably not everybodys cup of tea but i like things to match and look factory and i would like to keep the stock'ish style headlight and color. Drive a lotta back roads and the faded OEM lenses and mediocre output of the OEM headlights has been tolerable but i've been thinking about replacing the headlight and thought it would be a great time to update everything.

Do people prefer the relay and high output halogens in new headlights?
Do people prefer the mini projectors and LEDs in new headlights?
Can you do the projector and relay with high output halogen? If so has anybody already done it and reported good success?

That dark spot or chromatic aberration or whatever that is would definitely bother me. Hopefully they swap those out for you

Yeah definitely not ideal. I noticed that the aberration appears very blue in comparison to the passenger ("good") side in the output on objects from the perspective behind the steering wheel. Like it seems as if the driver's side is more blueish and the passenger is more true to the color temp it's supposed to be. But when going out and facing the truck looking at the lamps/lights, they look to be the same color.
