    Not enough....
    Yeah I have a Bully Dog that shows trans temp, so I think I used that. But I also have an OBD Bluetooth adapter and use the Torque app, so I may have been using that. I don't recall exactly what was plugged in at the time.

    I did have to add some extra fluid once it was up to temp so I definitely recommend having a bit extra. Like I said, I bought 14 quarts and I believe I opened 13 due to pumping out some clean fluid on the last transfer.

    I hate the paper clip method. There are a handful of OBD2 dongles that you can buy off of Amazon that will give you transmission temperature for as little as $50

    I ended up getting the OBD Link MX scanner tool before doing my drain and fill to monitor fluid temps and other data during maintenance and also while towing. Can also monitor a variety of other other readings and set up custom gauges on your phone for live data through the OBD Link app. I think I paid around $100 for it on sale.
