Good afternoon, I'm hoping to find a little insight on my Tundra no starting for me earlier. Left sitting for about 2 days, drive about 2 miles/5 minutes to a gas station, after shutting off and pumping I'm left with a No crank no start but a loud click as if the starter has randomly shit the bed. Rolled into a parking spot and was able to get a jump which actually caused the truck to have no power as if the battery was dead. Checked fuses and relays, none were blown or able to hear rattling, disconnect the battery and it magically is able to start again. I know its not battery related as its a 3 month old Optima red top and the alternator is putting out 13.1-13.3v while running, is this just the slow death of my starter at 139k? Thanks for reading, hope to find some answers before I'm stranded for real lol.

Just picked up a 2015 SR with 140k. Drove it for about 3 days and now I’m dealing with a similar issue, except mine hasn’t started again since, except for one time.

It was running great until I took it about 5 miles to the store. Came out, and it wouldn’t start. Tried troubleshooting and jumping it with no luck, so a buddy ended up towing me home.

Next day I charged the battery and got it to start once, but when I shut it off and tried again, nothing. So far I’ve:
    Cleaned the battery terminals
    Checked the fuses
    Charged the battery again
Checked the ignition switch (seems fine)

When I turn the key, nothing really happens except the small screen on the dash goes black until I let off the ignition.
I’ve attached the wiring diagram I’m working with. Haven’t made it to the starter yet because it’s been raining nonstop here for days.

Would love any updates or ideas from anyone who’s dealt with this.

seem to have got it pinned down to the starter as there was voltage to the leads and it would start if i was tapping the soleinoid, got a new one from the dealership but i did some damage on the bolts durring removal so ive been searching for a replacement since toyota said it would take 2 weeks to get them in. Hopefully this works for me. In your case, Good Luck!

It may be the starter plug... it's hot and my failed starts have returned. Starters usually lasts about 210k before they really die, FYI... I'm trying to troubleshoot,l my issue but usually get no more than 1 fail start before it starts.. I figured it's a broken wire or broken solder on a module somewhere.

I repositioned my steering wheel until it started, so I'm leaving it alone until I figure out a good solution.
