I’ve had my truck back for roughly 2 months now post the deer strike. I can only assume the installation didn’t go well for the flares although they did well with the front bumper overhaul and painting. Insurance related repair work usually sucks. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. I constantly have to deal with my front fender flares coming loose and yesterday the one on the front right detached while I was driving on the highway. Heard it flapping around. Pulled over and my friend did a little bandaid fix. Now I feel like I’m better off without the fender flares. This isn’t the first time it has happened. Never had issues with the ones on the back, always the front.

With me 100% considering having all 4 of them removed and not put back on, I see that I’ll need to get all of the fenders done where the flares are in terms of removing the marks it caused and the rust. The rust is only in the area where the flares are.

    I want to remove mine.
I've taken them off for waxing over the years and noticed a line in the paint from the flares.
Not sure if it can be buffed out or not..

I personally don’t like fender flares. Unless it came from the factory like that I wouldn’t keep them on. You do however have to consider how it looks underneath the flares since they been on awhile.

I definitely want to throw the flares away. Can’t stand them. Pinstripes meh. The first owner had all that installed. I called a body shop and they’ll have to access the rust on the fenders.

Hopefully it’ll be doable for them to fix/repair what’s underneath. I’m so over having them on the truck.

It’ll be over $1400 for paint labor and a little body labor. They want to make sure it looks right. There’s a bit rust on the lines. The main thing is that darn mark. Down below there wasn’t much. I’ll do anything for my Tun.
