So you use this along with the Dongar dashcam power adapter that plugs into the mirror in the headliner?

Just did the same (dongar pro). Was very easy. I mounted the 3-way switch in the sunglass holder so I can change the setting easily.

I'm talking about using the Dongar adapter. It includes everything that you need.

The Dongar adaptor isn't model specific. It's make and Gen/year specific. Easiest way to check is to pull the plug from your power mirror and check the connector pins. should be a 12 pin type A connector.

Just a heads up on these mirror dashcam adapters... some aftermarket dash cams like my Viofo A229 will reboot every time you have an automatic engine stop/start at traffic lights, specifically on the restart event. You can avoid this by hardwiring to the fuse box under the glovebox (that's what I did) or by avoiding the auto stop/restart. It isn't a huge deal but takes the cam offline for the duration of the reboot process. Other cams may be OK if they have a sufficient capacitor or internal battery power buffer.

Good to know if I ever need to replace my cam. I abandoned the Dongar adapter in place up in the overhead console, so it is there and waiting.

Yeah, I just used the existing factory dashcam harness up in the overhead.

Yeah, me too. I left the adapter connected to the factory harness up there anyway since that was easier than removing the darned thing.

I just ordered the Dongar pro. I’m assuming it works for the 25 Tundra…it only has 22-24 listed.

I got this set up and seems to be working great. Is there any danger of it killing my battery if I always use it in infinite mode?
