    Thanks, I appreciate it!

The only way I'm staying with 20's is if I find a powder coated set of limited wheels. I missed a set in April by like an hour. My preference is either the BBS pro wheels or the TRD off-road wheels, pc'd black. I just prefer the look of an 18" wheel on a truck.

Yup, I have 4x4, which is why I plan to service the transfer case

Looks like we got the same mindset.

I ended up buying some 18 takeoffs(wheel& tire) from craigslist so that I can use as rollers while I had my 20's painted.

Well once I remounted and installed my painted 20's I ended up taking the 18's to get painted so those are boxed up right now waiting for my current tires to wear down than I'll slap those 18's on with a slightly beefier tire.

Had the truck for over 10k miles now. She has been a dream!

    PXL_20240719_184227292.jpg

Bought some new tires. Been searching for wheels, but my boat trailer took a dump and I decided to spend that extra coin there instead.

Got some Dynapro AT2 in 275/60 - 20 off of marketplace. Screaming deal for $425 for the set on a tire with 18 miles, that is $300 a tire on TireRack. I'll put these on before winter.

Pic of the rusted thru frame under the bracket of the old trailer. I looked into getting it welded, but unfortunately found 3 other spots that will ultimately need attention. I tow my boat, with my family in the truck, all over the state. Not willing to risk it.

Found this trailer that has been on marketplace and the guy was wanting to get rid of. He was originally asking $800 when he posted it and had dropped to $600 when I found it. Got it for $425!

I haven't taken this on yet, been a busy summer for the family. I plan to do them before MI winter.

I've watched quite a few different YouTube vids on it, it seems pretty simple. I have all the replacement washers and bolts already, now I just need to get the fluids and find the time.

This one is decent. But there are truly many out there

Hit a new record on the dash for MPG today on my way back from Grand Rapids

    PXL_20241019_005255749.jpg

I had just filled up so I decided to actually test the dash MPG vs reality. Things didn't go as well as I'd hoped

    Screenshot_20241018-205538.png

Dash was nearly 3mpg more optimistic than reality. I was hopeful it would be at least within 1 mpg, but alas. Won't be monitoring the dash MPG for funsies anymore now that I know it's not even in the ballpark.

Oil change coming up this wknd. Still need to do my difs and TC

Got my F150 take offs out on the other day. My speedo is correct for the first time! Not gna lie, it drove me crazy to see the GPS on both my wife and my phones showing us going 2 MPH slower than the truck said. Now, moving from the stock 275/55-20 to 275/60-20, my speedo is correct!

The tires are certainly not the sexiest, but the price couldn't be beat and I'm a cheap ass lol

Got my front and rear differential and transfer case fluids changed. Also changed the engine oil.and rotated tires

I know enter the phase where I get a slight bit of anxiety after doing something for the first time to a vehicle of mine. Never done the difs or TC on this truck and while it was very simple, I still get unnerved for a bit.

Shifting into 4H seemed to take a second or two longer, but it did shift smooth, as it has before. Switching to 4L was seamless, same as before. It seemed to take an extra 2-3 seconds to come out of 4H, but that could also be my dramatic side showing.

All is well, just gotta do it once to get over it. I'll spilling and filling the coolant soon and having the dealer service the transmission over the summer.

About to cross 52k. Loving this truck!

Jim you can handle the spill and fill on the transmission too.Pretty straight forward and some very good YouTube videos on the process.I did mine last summer in the driveway.I dropped the pan and changed the filter/strainer, o-ring,gasket,pan washers and 6qts Toyota WS.Did the temp check with an OBD2 scanner at 113° to a slight trickle and was GTG.

I may need to watch these videos. I'm very intimidated by this task. I'll take a peek. Thx for the vote of confidence.

Yup. I need to research these more. I'll pry knock them out in May or June when I have a bit more free time. On Spring Break (as it's snowing the past two days here in Mid MI) but have some house stuff to tend to for the remainder of the break

Forgot to add that I switched the front differential fill and drain plugs to the Lexus style. Would definitely recommend. The OEM drain plug was in perfect condition. The fill plug was pretty oxidized, but came off without too much fuss. I kept them both just in case I needed them down the line

Snagged a Carista OBD2 module. Removed the seat belt chime (backing in the boat is sooooooo much nicer without it!), changed blinker from 3 to 4, and made it to where if I unlock the door, that SOB actually stays unlocked! Well worth it.

Gna check around and see what others have done w the gen 2.5s regarding the changing of the temperature baseline. I have the option to make it "colder", but I don't want to mess anything up.

It was 91° yesterday while we drove the 2.5 hrs to the family cottage. I had that AC on full blast (wife had hers at 75° lol). I am def thinking of adding the Land Rover brushless blower motor. Still have some maintenance items to knock out as well

I didn't know you could change the blinks from 3 to 4, that would be nice, I never felt 3 was enough.

I actually changed it to 5 the first time, bc I also always felt 3 was a bit short. Then after driving on the hwy a few hrs, I found 4 to be the sweet spot

My wife's TrailBoss blinks 5 times, I like that amount for city driving but agree 4 times would be nice for highway.

I monitored my transmission temps for the first time yesterday, I bought an Xtool A30M for my upcoming drain and fill.

I was pulling my boat with the fam and a light load in the truck, certainly no more than 1500lbs for the boat & trailer combined (old aluminum 14' Jon) and no more than 700 total pounds in the truck.

It was 85° out and I was seeing high 220s most of the trip, saw some 230s, and a spike of 251. I was going 79 (speed limit is 75 in mid MI), had tow/haul mode on, but let the truck do its thing. I didn't feel like the lite boat and low payload of the truck called for me to be using s4.

This obviously concerns me a bit and makes me think I need to explore a cooler. When I take the same trip next week, I will pry slow down to low 70s and see what type of difference that makes temperature wise. I also plan to see what my temps are, driving empty, along this same route and similar conditions. I will post them here.

I know S4 is ideal and I have found my sweet spot for S4 when loaded heavy is about 72 mph, but I am just surprised that my little boat would need that. It's a dang 1960s aluminum boat for goodness sake!

It doesn't take much for the temps to spike. I think it was the last time we were heading home with the boat from mid-MI and we stopped in Midland, I think, to let the dog out and grab food, fluid was already warm and the traffic around town caused my temps to climb quick. Once I was back on US10 with the converter locked the temps stabilized but took a while to drop.

I think you'll be surprised how warm the fluid gets on that same trip even unloaded.

If the Xtool is capable of monitoring when the converter is locked vs unlocked you can use that to see if you can drive in S5 and stay in lock-up. I know I've read of other people being able to do it, but for me it won't stay locked so I just stick with S4. I monitor mine with OBD Fusion.

After thinking on it, I think I'll go ahead with the transmission drain and fill and do a Blackstone analysis to see the condition of the fluid. If there are any negatives found, I'll piece together a cooler

If the fluid checks out, I guess I'll just slow my happy ass down a bit when pulling my baby boat and and check again at 75k miles

Chances are everything is just fine.

I did a drain/fill around 38K I believe and the fluid seemed fine. I'll do another when I install the cooler this year, at about 62K now, but I don't anticipate any issues with it. I'm adding the cooler for the added security when we go somewhere that will put the transmission to more stress, like when we towed our boat to TN a couple years ago, we used my wife's truck then but now we will be able to use either without worry of overheating the Tundra's transmission.

Been tied up with a mudroom refresh for the wife, in between shocks, struts, toe links, oil change, & new tires for her explorer, so haven't gotten to the needed work on my Tundra just yet. Transmission d&f, coolant d&f, power steering d&f, brake fluid exchange, & oil change all due in the next few thousand miles. Hoping to have it all wrapped up before undercoating season starts

Bought this a week or so ago. So far, it works like an absolute charm. Takes maybe 2-3 seconds longer to connect than my wired connection did, but I have had zero disconnecting issues. If my phone gets bumped or picked up when connected to the wired connection, it cuts out. Not anymore!

Monitored temps again today on the 2.5 hr drive to the family cottage.

76° outside. Towed my boat and a bed full of firewood. Sweet spot was 73moh in S5. The pan never cracked 220° and highest TC I saw was 225°.

Feeling much better about this than the last time. Obv it was much cooler out and I was driving much slower.

I'll see what my unloaded #s are when I return home for work without the firewood and boat this week.

When you were in S5, did your TC stay locked at cruising speed?

Nice TRD Sport. I see that you're in Michigan, not sure if you are tuned (OTT) but I'm around the Farmington Hills area and have a 2020 limited, OTT, leveled and have done all the maintenance (Fluid changes, belt, plugs, etc) on my truck myself so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

It only unlocked a few times over the course of the whole trip. Only on the long grades. That's where the TC hit 225, but the pan never came up that high

Appreciate the offer! I live in deer country, so when I inevitably hit one, I'm planning on adding a steel bumper and may go the Bilstein 6112 route, mid setting, to level things out a bit and support that weight. OTT seems like overkill for my current application, but it may become something I explore down the line
