I posted on how to get rid of rain drops stains. I now use Griots G9 and Griots 10895 Ceramic All-in-One. I use an orange pad, and it gets rid of small scratches and the rain spots.

However, there are new spots on the car. I would have posted a pic. But I’m sure everyone knows what they look like. I there a way to stop them. Seems if it rains and the sun comes out the etch into the paint.

I was thinking of again buffing the car out with the Griots 10895 Ceramic All-in-One to get the paint up to snuff, but then topping with Collinite 885 that I use for my boat. Maybe it will be a better seal.

I’ve never had rain etch the paint. Then again my truck is ceramic coated. But I live in south Louisiana where chemical plants are all over the place and I’ve still never had any issues with normal rain messing up the paint.

I guess a picture was needed. I washed the car, claybar and even hand waxed. The water stains are proving to be resilient

Strip the wax and put a legit ceramic coating on. With it being a black truck, wax provides little protection to prevent the water from just evaporating leaving behind whatever deposits are in it. It’s possible whatever wax you’re using is just melting off the truck as well. Anything carnuba based isn’t going to hold up, especially on a black truck.

So the Griots 10895 Ceramic All-in-One is not ceramic?

Did you correct the surface and clean the surface with IPA before applying? Did you apply it in humid conditions? And that isn’t a true ceramic coating. A true ceramic coating won’t come suspended in a cream wax form. That’s more of just a topper or maintenance wax.
