Much to intake with my new Tundra, which is a non-hybrid with UNpowered tailgate.

So far, the only means to lock the tailgate is to power-off the fob. No other button-pushing will do it, apparently.

Is this as it should be, or did I miss something?

    Thank you.

if you lock the truck and leave the fob say in the house your tailgate is locked. I had to laugh at myself when one day I couldn't figure out why after locking the tailgate i could still open it. Then wife said it was because I had the fob in my pocket. Sure enough if i locked the truck and got the fob out of range the tailgate isn't going anywhere.

Tailgate locks with the truck. Lock the doors, tailgate is locked. Unlock doors, tailgate is unlocked.

When I lock the truck with the fob, the tailgate remains unlocked. Only when I power-off the fob does it lock.

Lock the truck. Leave the fob out of range (put it in your fridge). Now go try your tailgate.

on the second button i told you wrong. Ok the big button is what you use to open your tailgate. The little button is say your at the store , you throw something in the back of the truck then hit the small button and it locks the tailgate and doors back.

Ok . you have your fob. and lock your truck. doors and tailgate are locked. Say you get out of your truck "everything still unlocked" you go to back of truck and pull out your backpack to go hiking. You have two options at this point. You can press the lock button on your fob and everything is locked. OR you can simply push the little button on the tailgate without taking out your fob out of your pocket and again everything is locked.

Put the fob in battery saver mode and place in a Faraday case. It will not open.

The truck comes with a manual?? lol. :) . Here's a little tidbit Just tried this. Locked the truck and everything is locked. went to the back and opened the tailgate then put the fob out of range. Checked the doors and they are locked with the tailgate still open. closed the tailgate with fob out of range and it's now locked also. Going to have to stop now, neighbors are starting to think I'm developing dementia as I keep playing with the tailgate of the truck and walking away and coming back.

I get the reaction “RTFM”, but this is supposed to be a community of some sort. If you don’t feel like contributing, just leave it alone. Or at least don’t be so agro with the red caps lock?
